after upgrading to MIUI version 9.5.5.0 I noticed that my battery drained...and Android system is the blood monster draining the battery...android system will always be on top of the battery use list with about %35 upward...please is there any solution to this?

Some have said clearing apps sometimes leads to battery draining as the processor would require more power to restart them again. But if you clear them and your battery improves, then good for you
is there any proof to suggest that the update has better battery management?

If it's redmi 5 plus, the person you quoted is on 9.6

Either you reflash your current rom or factory reset or download the full update of the new rom and flash
