She wanted fried yam and scrambled egg sauce while I wanted dodo, fries, stew and chicken like mama use to make for me back in the day.....she had to assist and we are now done.......so when next you see the lady on my arm with a wide smile on her face and sporting smooth skin that looks like butter? Just know she always gets what she wants...........(dinner canceled).. cool

Aww..Looks inviting, recipe please
Thanks, for the receipe, I just tweaked all the puff puff receipes I have come across. Here goes:
3 cups of all purpose flour
3 tsp of dry instant yeast
1/2 cup of sugar (don't like my puff puff sugary)
1 tsp of grounded nut meg
1 tsp of grounded dry pepper (love the taste)optional
2 egg medium size ( makes it fluffy) very much optional
1/2 cup of warm water (to be added as needed)
Get a bowl and mix all your dry ingredients (first sift your flour to incorporate air and get rid of unwanted particles)
Make a well at the centre of the bowl and add your eggs
Using a wooden stick, mix all together adding the warm water little by little while watching the consistency of your dough.
Should not be thick and not runny either.
Cover bowl with a foil or thick hand towel and keep in a warm place (I keep in my unlit oven) for 55mins-1hr
After bringing it out, it would have risen to 2x or 3x it's original size. (if it doesn't rise, know that the yeast is bad) give a stir again to deflate to its original size
Get a pot on fire, add vegetable oil enough to allow the puffs fry well and round
I add some onion to the oil like half a medium bulb whole when it is hot and some fresh ginger as well( personal preference, as they all add to the flavour of the puff).
When the oil is hot enough, not too hot o!
Scoop the puff dough after giving it a stir to deflate the air bubbles formed in the rising of the dough (in doing this, the dough will go back to its original size)
I tried using my hands to scoop the dough into the hot oil but got the most shapeless puffs you can imagine, so I used one of my measuring cups to get a semblance of round shape.
When a side browns a bit, flip to the other side and let if fry as well.
Bring out when all sides are fried golden brown and drain in a sieve covered with paper towels or serviettes
Please if and when you do try this, let us know how it turns out tongue
Happy frying

Nope, some dishes are cooked by men and posted on their behalf like i posted Okro cooked by my husband.
Elder001:
Having viewed most pages of this thread I find it confusing that men don't post pics and details of food which they cooked.
Are you guys trying to tell me that Nigerian men don't cook? because I'm not understanding.
Almost all the posts on this thread are made by ladies.
