To be honest, in most cases except the parents are richly blessed financially. Otherwise, the pressure and burden inherited by most first born is usually out of their control, if you are not strong mentally you break down and loose it all. My advice from experience is "Do your best and leave the rest for God" you are also entitled to be pampered like other children in the family 10 Likes 1 Share |

Being a first born isn't easy at all. You make sacrifices, put the needs of your junior ones first. You also have have to live a life worthy of emulation because in most cases, they look up to you so you can't mess up else you've failed as an elder one. What of the ones whose family problems rests on their shoulders? Some don't even take care of themselves, or go to school just so they can put food on the table, clothe their siblings, and send them to school. 7 Likes 1 Share |

HenryDion: I am a first born and this is just a tenth of what most responsible first born face in families. You are a first born when you pick up responsibilities of others or put others first before yourself because God has put you in that leadership position not because your family said so. You are a first born when others achieve their life-long aims and objectives with your sweat and they forget you ever contributed or even chide you for asking for favours. You are a true first born when you save your siblings from trouble and they dont return such favour and laugh a you when your turn comes up. You are a true first born when you dont ask any favours from your siblings and only ask your Maker for a way out. You are a true first born when you siblings hate your gut and sadly cannot do anything about it considering the nature of your position. You are a true first born when absolute patience and perseverance is your character and dont bother about the shortcuts. You are a true first born when you are the subject of criticism and jest from every one, especially when your neighbours avoid you especially when you are not rich. You are a true first born when you achieve your life's aims and objectives long after others as your siblings or those before you dont pray for you to be there. You are a true first born when you continue to bear these responsibilities even with your meagre income. You are a true first born male when your female siblings do their possible best to bring you down and you survive their venomous bites. Finally you are a true first born when you have been ordained by Our Creator, Almighty Go to fulfill your duty destiny and positively impact nd direct your immediate and extended families destiny to new heights. I am proud to be a first born and that is just part of my unfolding personal experience. Like for being Created a true first born by God. Share for reading this as a first born. 22 Likes 11 Shares |

Sometimes But at other times, its looks as if parents choose/set the life pattern of their kids. They choose who should be the favorite, the clown and the suffer head. It takes the grace of God to break free from that pattern. Little wonder why kids must leave home early. Some parents are toxic. 4 Likes

If you've parents who are responsible and/or financially okay (not necessarily rich), being a first born is not a big deal. Everybody will be okay on their own without putting any burden on the first born. A typical example is my family. 6 Likes 1 Share |

No, it isn't. My dad's first son seized everything after my dad's demise and claimed he was the sole heir. We're talking of lands, houses, car and even a generating set. 1 Like |
