Skyfornia: Basically you shouldn't enter a box junction if the road you're crossing into isn't free. This is to keep traffic moving. So you wait, when you're exit is free you go straight in without waiting on the box. 1 Like |

Lots of us have over 10 years experience in driving yet we can't identify any of these. Nigeria sucks in every aspect. You can't have a license without passing a text on these road signs/marks, signals and police signals in other organized countries. These little things matters. We sing praises for these useless governors when they construct substandard roads with traffic signs. Driving at night with these signs is fun but here in Nigeria it is a suicide mission. A policy of going through driving school and passing road test will help educate road users, create employment and drive revenue for the government. A rigid policy on road construction should follow to ensure we get road designs before construction and traffic signs installed after construction. I am yet to see any digital governor in this country. The sad part is that most of them lived in abroad. |

Skyfornia:It is used at signals (junctions) where traffic lights control the traffic. It means you shouldn't be in the box when the signal is red there by blocking other drivers that are coming from other direction that has green light. Another way to understand it is this, if your lane has green light but the road is blocked, do not enter the box if you are unsure that you will pass the box before the light turns red. So you have to remain in your spot until traffic along your direction is free. It attracts penalty in some countries. 1 Like |

Skyfornia:The yellow box junction is used to avoid bottleneck. Its like the "zebra crossing" for cars 1. You are not allowed to step into the box unless the traffic is free in your direction 2. Once you are in the yellow box, other drivers give way for you |

TheBeat: Thank you guys, I have been seeing that sign(box junction) whenever I pass Fola Agoro street and didn't know the meaning until today. Though the sign at Fola Agoro is positioned at the beginning of a street but i have to look at it very well when next I pass there. Newshrink: femi4: |
