Yes the questions appear to be cheap. It looked cheap but sensitive. What was your score? You need to get the concept well to get some the questions correctly. So many people did well too. It was recorded this year that the highest scorer is 360...from MBBS .

most of the questions where from jamb pq, which I solved extensively. Only to score 208 and an average of 219. I am very sure of the answers I chosed and they were correct. It was like only the score for english was given to me.
Average 219 mbbs from kaduna STATE. Some say 220 is required. Some say 250. Can I be given pharmacy considering my average and the fact that am from a less competitive catchement area?

Like I said , BUK is the best for mbbs in Nigeria as far as am concerned but need u to to be very well prepared. U can can be bounced if any little error.
BUK and ABU strictly respect the JAMB quota system .
As u are not from the North West, it might be very difficult.
Unijos don't obey some rules from NUC ...go for Unijos.
With this your score is almost certain that u would get admitted if u applied Unimaid. Unimaid is not as bad as the southerners portrays it... it is one of the best in terms of mbbs in Nigeria.Thank me later if u know what I mean

Do you currently school there. How is the admission like. I have a kid brother with 278 in Jamb, 280 in PUME and 279 average. Do you think he stands chance for MBBS from Kogi State. Pls I need your honest opinion if you school there

279 is a decent score. However, admission depends on many other factors that are outside the candidate's control.

If many other candidates have better score then his chance will narrow.

your kid sister did well but you know that MBBS in BUK is extremely competitive. Most guys coming to write PUTME there are very brilliant.
kogi state is an a catchment state to BUK and , there are many kogites in BUK. With the average of 279, it is 50:50. If more other kogites scored more than him, she would be dropped.Just pray.
Go to the medical hostel in BUK ask them their scores, genuinely, u would be hearing 300+ Many of them come with more than 300 in Jamb and then more than 300 in PUTME.

Kogi state is NOT BUK catchment area. It is rather BUK educationally less developed state.

BUK admission guide for MBBS

1) Total number of candidates to be admitted is 150

2) Out of that 150 10 or 20% will be DE candidates while the rest will come through UTME.

3) Among those coming via UTME, 45% will be admitted based on merit, 35% based on catchment area (7 states in the NW), and the remaining 20% based educationally less developed states (all the 19 states in northern Nigeria including FCT and Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Ebonyi, and Rivers states).

MDCN don't rank MBBS program. They allocates quota based on available resources.

The main reason why BUK's MBBS is good is due to low students: teachers ratio.

Some of the questions came from Jamb Past questions just like many other Nigerian University's PUTME. How did u know u selected the right option? I have seen the questions too and the qns selected are really Sensitive. There are some other candidates who did extremely well.

BUK is really too tough to get comparing with Unijos.

I was in the last MBBS/BDS induction in Buk, the president Of the MDCN was there, Prof Sanusi. He extolled BUK for its quality products.
Let me tell u that in the Northern Nigeria, BUK is the best in Medical field. Have u been there? Have u spoken with its products?
BUK has 150 as quota for mbbs but it admitts only about 100 to make it up using DE in yr2 .
I want to charge u to Google about last Nigeria medical Students competitions organized by NMA. BUK WON It. All the equipment u want is there ...standard and comfortable class rooms. Very quality lecturers. I know 2 Egyptians lecturers in Physiology department.
I know 2 Indians in Pathology and 1 Pakistani in Pharmacology...and many stronger men. They don't make noise like the other universities...just come there are see. Unijos spend like 8yrs minimum in Medical school due to poor / lack of equipment and manpower.
Ask people people that are there.

Are u trying to say that the computer that marked your paper marked u down? Or is it that u know the answers more than the persons that set the exam?
Somebody got 360 which is equivalent to 90/100 in the same Exam , u know? He is not from Kano state too.
