Most religious beliefs are easily displaced with some knowledge of basic science. And I think it is understandable, although reprehensible, when religious leaders try to shield their followers from accepting logic and the scientific method in weighing their pre-held beliefs.

Their behaviour in other countries is very irritating. They will travel to places and try to force their religion on the people living there

You have a point, but in highly educated societies/countries it's citizens naturally do away with sections of ( Bible, Quran, Buddhist pamplets etc) that promotes uncontrolled procreation. They only give birth to children they can take care of while still adhering to their religion.
Some don't even give birth at all because of missionary travelling work but still adhere to their faith.

I think all classes of people do away with parts of their "holy book" they do not agree with.

Evangelical christians do away with parts of the Bible where it says to put to death anyone who does work on sundays. Fundamental christians do not preach that anyone with two different fabric material in one cloth will go to hell.

Most Muslims do not obey the Quran when it says to kill unbelievers.

Cherrypicking is one thing that unites abrahamic theists rather than divide them.

Yes, im sure. note that im not talking about religious beliefs, but scientific facts that the Qur'an backs up...like how a baby is formed in the womb, geological facts, etc. They were light years ahead in that regard

Plus Islam actively encourages followers to seek wisdom and knowledge...its actually in the hadeeth... any Imam that preaches against it is preaching against Islam since Islam is not afraid of being probed by science and logic..they dont need to shield the followers from anything if theyre serious

Its actually a stain on their preaching if they cannot effectively counteract somebody's questions or queries with Qur'anic knowledge

As a little bit of research could reveal that the Quran did not pioneer the discovery of most of the scientific theories it now claims to have uncovered. Perhaps, such knowledge was not as widespread at the time and the book only helped to 'publicise' them. And it probably deserves some accolades for that.

But that is, of course, ignoring the seemingly ridiculous number of scientific explanations the Quran got totally wrong. The production of sperm from the ribs is an incredibly laughable example.

I am not too familiar with the ins and outs of the source of their ideas but in times past muslims were at the forefront of a lot of critical discovery which they claim originated from their faith, so I tend to take their word for it

Also bear in mind that the Arabic in the Qur'an is extremely old and requires at least over 5 years of continuous study to comprehend...as such some ideas may not translate well and may serve as fresh meat for detractors who quickly latch onto the perceived error and spread it as a falsehood without delving into its scriptural origin. The same happens in Christianity when so-called preachers dont bother to study the source material and cant defend themselves in an argument
