this is the pics of the elusive Jos variety sent to me by frankedoka,I think it will be better for the forum to has a say on the variety,I have a strong suspicion that it is an opv variety probably marketer ,pointsett or supermarketer,just a strong suspicion because of short size and visible spines it cannot be a hybrid,let's have different opinions,and if there are farmers around Jos that is reading pls input your opinion or findings let us know what that cucumber is called or how to get it,I am even suspecting that it can be recycled Hybrid variety that has been planted and recycled over the years had turned to another type of variety that is peculiar to Jos alone.

A Jos farmer confirmed its truly opv packaged in 100g and Jos-like. But he cannot relate with the name cos they plant more of hybrids (Darina in particular).
Since the shape is not pointsett, marketmore or supermarketer, I am of the opinion is marketer that was well fed. Right nutrients/elements can aid more pigmentation in fruits/leaves, same way their absence can make them appear pale.

You can still give the cabbage stuff another shot. Main issue lie with the hardening process. Make it gradual and progressive, and not "sudden". from like 1hr per day, to 2, 3 and so on till it can finally withstand full sun.

I think you are dead right, immediately we removed the palm fronds covering the whole nursery the whole seedlings kaputed in 2 days,it was a shock, even pepper and garden egg cannot die easily like that,but my friend Danish variety not only survived but thrived.

@okoroemeka and others, please how long does the petrol in the petrol pumping machine last. That is, what is the estimated fuel consumption of the petrol pump (litres and hours). I've always used the electric pumps (have like 4) but I want to increase acreage and do proper budgeting for the pump to avoid bring cash strapped. I've already bought a 6.5hp pump. Thanks.

your question is very technical,fuel consumption depends on many factors like speed of engine, gradient of land, distance pumphead,size of hose,etc,farmer A may use 1 litre to irrigate 2 plots using bigger size hose, while farmer B will use 2 litres for same 2 plots but with smaller hose size,the answer you will get is to couple up the pump with the hose you have,put half litre of fuel and time it,the answer will show itself.

Please help, my eggplant seedlings are beginning to show white/yellow dots on their leaves and the leaves are yellowing and withering. It's my first time trying eggplant. I couldn't find Ridomil in d market so I bought the closest I could find which is Chinese made, ultimax plus which I sprayed yesterday. I also have said.
