The poo they act is meaningless and a replica of what they've been doing before.
.
- No good graphic.
- Copied film tricks.
- Greedy producer who is also director, asst., manager, drummer, script writer etc.
.
An effing story.

That bold part is the main reason for suboptimal overall quality of the movies.
You nailed it boss

In as much as we guys are criticizing, Nollywood it’s the second highest movie producers after Indias Bollywood . Couple with our epileptic electricity supply they built a million dollar industry from nothing but pure dedication and a lot of people are benefiting and are employed by this industry.

Don’t forget the highly acclaimed movies like Lionsheart and the likes of others .

They sure have their share of challenges but great success is achieved through practice and experiments . Nobody got it right overnight.

We should appreciate ours too.

people making these statements are pretenders and unpatriotic Nigerians. They see worse case in foreign movies yet they say nothing because it is foreign. We all watched James bond, chakin chain, swasnigger, chinese movies, and many other movies with questionable and unbelievable contents. Besides, some of those points are not what they should be bothered about, but the message being passed. After all, it is in an attempt to act what is real that they now act porn and other contents that are not supposed to be seen in home movies, thereby introducing a lot of negative vices in the lives of our youths.

Go and watch the series "Trackers"! It was solely produced and mastered by South Africans.

Nollywood started before a lot of other African movie industries, and they have what it takes to do better...

The criticisms are harsh, but certainly not untrue nor misguided...

pls stop Condeming then joo, ofcos Hollywood also have many flaws, I was watching "strike back" few days ago, I had to stop at season 3,even when I had the rest of the season with me,
imagine a single soldier, going for several missions in various African countries, to spy, sneaking and beating heavy securities on ground.
What Hangers me most was, him shooting many shooters but the opponent bullet will never hit him, and his always hit the target.
Dropping his gun, just to fight another that is heavyly armed with bear hand combat.

We. All have flaws but that nollywood is worst though, especially their subtitles

Those are exaggerations, not flaws. Exaggeration is a stylistic device in theatre.

This is not to say that Hollywood is perfect.

But, Nollywood needs to work harder. There is no structure, the directors are damn lazy, and the actors are amateur at best.

Some of the mistakes that make the cuts in Nollywood are ridiculous. It is like no one cares. They are just after the money.

How can you shoot a movie and the boom mic keeps intruding on the scene, and the director cannot retake the shot or even find a way to erase the mic?

Then there are the ridiculous subtitles. How much time would it take to provide minimally correct subtitles? Watch some the movies, especially, the Yoruba movies, and you would be tempted to think that the subtitles were made by roadside mechanics.

Try and pick up a 1970s Hollywood movie like Coma, for instance. Now, pick a 2017 Nollywood movie and compare.

It is just disgraceful.

Bruh the goal is to make movies that will immerse the viewer. Different camera angles to make you feel all the tension or emotions the actors are showing. Also live 3d CGI real-time composition in movies like transformers robots and I have never seen anything like that in Nollywood..
I believe my movies will stimulate and impact creativity.
I don't know how it will be done, I'm really passionate

Abeg I write stories and I have a ton of ideas for movies, execution is holding me back.

Even Hollywood dey produce messed up movies.. But you don't see their country men going around shouting Hollywood is trash.

There is no film industry that has more critics than Hollywood.

The day I saw them bringing out mistakes in Titanic, I was baffled because I thought Titanic was perfect.

So, don't be under the impression that Americans don't criticize their own Hollywood movies.

Shuffering and shmiling life of mediocrity all round.
Why do you love your shithole existence

It really pains me when people abuse Nollywood. This is an industry that has grown from grassroots, and is now blossoming and showcasing Nigeria to the world.

It was because the Japanese loved their mediocrity, as did the Indians, Taiwanese, and (earlier on) the Americans, that they now make content beloved around the world. The early movies from all these places are now cringe-worthy, but even so, Oyinbo will still speak lovingly of their own faults, calling such terrible movies "cult status", "seminal" and "vintage".

If you don't watch your own, it will never grow and develop. The same Nollywood people are abusing is the source of some excellent films lately; it has trained lots of the talent we're now seeing on Netflix and grossing millions in the cinemas.

The current success would not have been possible without "sweating ghosts" and "Madam P tasting the poisoned food".

In American movies, 1000 bullets shot, but not one hits the hero. Car explosions galore, but somebody ends up with just a single cut on their forehead. Insane, physics-defying jumps, but no broken bones. Show me an American poster and I can summarize the plot for you, whether it's one of romantic comedy, cop and robbers, scary, or lone wolf against bad industrialist.

Movies only make money from cinema, purchased movie DVDs and online rental
If you invest money into make a serious realistic movie, IN THIS NIGERIA,
HEN, HENNNNNN!!!!!!!!
Are people willing to watch it in cinema and pay for the movie? Because that is what happens overseas.
You know very well, that our people will buy and distribute the pirated one.
You, the movie producer will lose so much money because our people do not have the habit of spending money on movies.

Americans can use $100,000,000 budget to make a movie and get back, $200,000,000 from sales and cinema ticket.
