But still doesn't understand the headline.
The headline is misleading
The news was on Channels TV yesterday. WHO have granted Nigerian scientists among other 89 countries to develop Covid 19 vaccines.
The implication is Pro Iwu and others can come up with their vaccines for Covid 19

Do you read the article at all? Scientists from diiferent 89 countries have been granted go ahead to develop Covid 19 vaccines. Nigeria scientists have just been listed to be among the countries to develop vaccines for Covid 19. Is there anything wrong in that?
Oga you the reason why fake news spread like wide fire in Nigeria?, because 70% of Nigeria only read news headlines.

I really don't know if these youths don't read or they read but fail to understand. The article is self explanatory, there are countries who have started to develop vaccines for Covid 19 on their own. Nigeria would soon be granted/ listed among these countries to develop vaccines.

it is you who lack understanding.

She also said that 89 vaccines are being developed globally, including seven in clinical evaluation and several therapeutics in clinical trials to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. She said, “Nigeria has also expressed interest to be part of this solidarity trial and efforts are underway to start the process in Nigeria too.

A Hardcore duns must have accepted this proposal on Nigeria's behalf.

It is one thing to use our own vaccine with a high tech help or use somebody's own that has gone through an extensive trial.

We don't have intelligent leaders liked thought, when it don't involve stealing, crime, or wickedness.

They should first start the test with the health Minister and his household, the presidency and their families, followed by the law makers and their families then the other ministers.

After they are done and not satisfied, they should come down to state level.

I think the headline depends on the interpretation you gave it.. I watched it on Channels TV yesterday, i guess i already understood what the headline meant. But for people who didnt watch it on Channels TV, will interprete it based on their own understanding. And as you pointed out, majority of them didnt read the article before commenting.

I know my opinion will be repelled by many people but to be candid, Africans must also contribute to the vaccine development, if we really want to benefit. Africans have being boiling on social media over the suggestion of vaccine trial in Africa by an European scientist. Government of many countries, billionaires, philanthropist, rich individuals and many ordinary people are contributing and donating billions of dollars to this ongoing research. Our government and billionaires can never donate a kobo, instead they are still cashing out and siphoning fund for this Covid19.
If we can't contribute monetarily, we are to contribute in the other way.
It is just as if people are contributing to cook a certain food and you stretch your leg waiting for them to finish, so that you can eat for from it. 'Who does that? '
If you can't contribute to buy the ingredients, at least you must contribute in the cook process.

Thank you very much. Here, you have bunch of lazy and arrogant people who don't want to be tested with the proposed vaccine but will later demand for it when cases skyrocket. Ask them what have they done to proffer solutions, nothing! Left to me, no African country should get a vaccine since they believe that it is aimed at reducing the continent's population. Ironically, African countries have the fastest growing population in the world upon years of conspiracy theoretical BS about reduction of population. Most of these persons wouldn't be alive today if not vaccines they received when they were young.

No country needs WHO approval to develop vaccines. WHO approval is only needed after it has been developed and needs to be administered to humans.

Ignorance is bliss.
