No country needs WHO approval to develop vaccines. WHO approval is only needed after it has been developed and needs to be administered to humans.

Ignorance is bliss.
Half education is dangerous
Stop your ignorance for once
The WHO Representative was on Channels PTF Covid 19 yesterday.
The explanation was clear enough.89 countries have already shown interest to WHO to develop vaccines for Covid 19.
Stop your ignorance
. Nigeria is be listed among the countries that have been granted to develop vaccines for Covid 19.
Ladi Akeredolu from Channels TV repeated the news at 10 pm yesterday.
Don't die of ignorance

This is a vaccine in the clinical trial stage. They are testing to see if the drug will work. Did you read of the case of the Kano children that were given such drugs by Pfizer and what happened to them when it failed?

Bros, leave all those semantics in the article. The intention is clear. They want Nigerians to take a vaccine that wouldn't dare use in their own country first.

Not just that my brother, it is also now clear whole inspire of the NAYs going loudest when the house sat on the bill, gbajamila and his corrupt friends gave it a YES on the floor of the house. Collusion everywhere.

The vaccine is been tested all over the world not just Nigeria. And it's just a normal vaccine, not a computer chip, like u people are insinuating.

As a Nigerian in Nigeria I would be weary of anything govt , even isolation centers are more like labs now to get the guinea pigs from.

It says over 100 countries have agreed to take part, Nigeria is only one of such countries. You want drugs but you don't want to take part in its trials.

You want to know why Nigeria?
Lemme tell you why, unlike the other countries you mentioned Nigeria have not contributed anything to the global fight of covid-19..nothing at all, no research paper, no vaccine development and not even monetary donations for vaccine development.
They're carrying out vaccine trials in many countries, but some Nigerians want it to be different here because they think they're special.

Nigerians and their Government are just hoping for foreigners to develop a drug or a vaccine so that they can start begging for it..
Our country is drawing the world back and making itself irrelevant.
It's actually not fair to all the other countries doing something about the virus..
so forget the shii about being guinea pigs, if you don't want don't go, it's not by force

Why does Femi Gbajabiamila have to sneak in a infectious diseases bill without allowing his colleagues scrutinize it first ? Allowing it to pass 2 readings with another shady lawmakers saying it should be passed at the "speed of light" in his own words ??

We don't care what's in the article at this point.

The keywords are WHO, NCDC, VACCINE, NIGERIA, COVID19
Nigerians are now very suspicious when they read the above....and I don't blame them anymore.

Most of the people against this think that it is one conspiracy against Africans. Yet they think that drinking herbs are the real cure. Hollow brains will not drag us down in this life.

This pandemic like many other issues, but better highlighted by this one, is a vivid reminder of why most of Africa, Nigeria being a prime example, is backward.

Africans sit back and let the rest of the world conduct research, find solutions and obtain the rewards.

Whilst the research is being conducted, Africans promote conspiracy theories, discard logic, elevate innuendos and engender fake news thinking it is all fun.

I foresee a time in future when Africa would be pleading for the antidotes, begging that the cost be subsidized for them, asking if the capitalists have no human feelings.

For now, it is all well and good to fester in the early days ignorance, waiting to reap where did not sow.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that Nigeria has expressed interest to be part of the global solidarity trial of the vaccines being developed to tackle COVID-19 pandemic

It means that Nigeria has agreed for its citizens to be used in the trial. That's what it means na

No. It is 89 different vaccine developing companies not countries. Nigeria scientists are not listed, it is Nigeria listed as one of the countries for trial.

Nigeria is not the only country the vaccine trial is going on, it's happening all over the world. China, US, UK, India, South Africa etc.

You guys are just making a big deal out of nothing. And it's a normal vaccine not a computer chip.

This is how vaccine is normally tested, after it has pass trials for animals, such as monkey. It is then tested on human across a wild ethnicity or race.
