With up to 2m for 9ja used, I will recommend
RX 330 (2004-2007)

Other considerations:

The Highlander is also ok if you want 4 cylinder.

4Runner (2003-2009 I4, if you can get cheap one in good condition. If not for cash, my recommendation is 4Runner I4 or V6, 2010 & above),

PILOT (2006-2008, doubt if you will want this if you don't like Highlander),

CR-V (2006 & above, if you can pay attention to your suspension once in a while)
RAV4 (2007-2009, good ride but some see it as feminine's).

Try and check with trusted Mech with scanning tools before buying any.

i know nothing about cylinders and engines, the rx 330 vs xc90 vs the outlander, which is a good pick?

.In buying car/suv, sometimes one considers Nigeria factors- pocket, location, mech & parts' availability. Some also consider resale value and fueling.

4 cylinder (I4) will use lesser fuel depending on engine capacity. Most auto technicians can also handle this. The V6 or higher will give you more power and consume more fuel. It's very good for people with long distance journeys.

If you asked me to pick among the 3 above, I will certainly go with Lexus Rx 330, though a V6; most of the above have V6, except you're choosing Highlander or 4Runner I4.

ps: the Outlander, just like RAV4, CR-V, has I4 trim but some with CVT transmission from 2006.

It's nice but you must be ready to pay more for menteinance and parts. All these vehicles, XC90, Ford Edge, etc will not take abuse like average Toyota, Lexus or Honda; that's why I mentioned 'Nigerian factors' above. If you don't have any problem with those mentioned factors above, go for any vehicle of your choice.

I will advise you wait for Gurus here to further advise you.

03-09 4runner never had a 4cylinder engine except you are talking about diesel engines which I doubt it was either V6 or V8.

The outlander had been offering CVT transmission throughout it's generation, CVT is not a bad tech or death sentence in vehicles.

The outlander isn't known for gear issues though. I believe they use an in-house CVT, Mitsubishi is not a small company in mechanics

Nope. You're right, though; I haven't heard of CVT failures in Mitsus.

Great thread.

Pls is there any major difference between ES 350 2009 and the 2010?

I'm considering getting the car.

Is the 2010 worth paying extra 500k for?

"For 2010, the ES 350 gets a mild exterior freshening and a significant bolstering of its features list. Now standard are rear side airbags, leather upholstery, driver memory functions, Bluetooth audio and a USB port. The optional navigation system was also given a welcome upgrade, while Lexus' new "Enform and Safety Connect" emergency telematics system (think OnStar) is added to the lengthy options list. Sadly for book-on-tape fans, the previously standard tape deck has been removed and sent back to 1987."

No.

Thanks man.

So it's not worth the extra money.
I will just go with the 2009.

Go for an RX330. It's modern and lovely enough and has everything you'd need in an SUV and still make you stand out.

I have one for sale. It was imported as used by me. Feel free to check it out
