Manu and 5th position I'm sure they will vacate that 3rd for Chelsea and Leicester and go back to their normal position |

Angelfrost: VAR does not stop human bias when the referee decides to make wrong calls to favour another. Just as the Bruno Fernandes case. After going to VAR, this was a penalty in favor of Manchester United.

zeestone99: It was a clear penalty and if the officials wanted to overlook it, they shojld have cancelled fabinho's goal because Arnold's handball led to a goal. The var officials were bias and clearly aiding Liverpool all season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRyBGuJHzjs |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by Angelfrost(m): 11:15am On Jul 26, 2020 |
TheGoodJoe: I have analyzed that with a professional pundit... That goes two ways sir. It is actually a penalty cos a goal scoring or tactical move within the box was interfered with by the defending player. However, it is a soft one cos in the process, the attacking player equally stepped on the foot of the defender, but it can be read that Bruno was all about scoring. In all, it shouldn't have been given as a penalty. These things will improve as time goes on. |

Pharaohny: What part are you thanking him for exactly??! The congrats to Liverpool (Well deserved Champions), or the part where he said United should be in relegation (Seriously, how idiotic can one sound?)... If United should be in relegation, then Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, etc, should be where??! League 2??! |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:19am On Jul 26, 2020 |
Angelfrost: The officials behind the cameras and the referee on the pitch knew it was not a penalty and gave it because of their premeditated plans. There is no way to coat it. It only improves when the corrupt elements behind English football are dropped. |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by Angelfrost(m): 11:25am On Jul 26, 2020 |
TheGoodJoe: VAR doesn't have the final say in such calls or perceived errors... The central referee is supposed to review it with them using a Pitch side TV. This is the right way, and exactly how it's done in Serie A, and La Liga. VAR is simply meant to assist the referee in cases where he gets or makes the wrong calls... I believe these things will improve in EPL as time goes on. Generally, VAR will make refereeing far better, and make the game fairer... You don't just kill a project within its infancy because of isolated discrepancies. |

TheGoodJoe: I have just one question. Did it hit Silva's hand before Arnold? |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:28am On Jul 26, 2020 |
Angelfrost: You think it is a mistake that all referees, (except one I remember in a particular game) chose not to go to the screens to make decisions? It was preplanned to maintain their rigging officiating. The only good thing var has done is to prove how rigged the epl is. Even when they go to var, they clearly make bias calls. At least they can not blame error due to the speed of the game. |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:29am On Jul 26, 2020 |
zeestone99: The answer is in the first few minutes of the video. Watch and elucidate yourself on why the call of the referee was clearly biased in favour of Liverpool. Note, Crouch in the studio is a former Liverpool player. |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by Tamel(m): 11:30am On Jul 26, 2020 |
zeestone99: Lol I'm always baffled when they miss that part , even analyst miss that part. The ball clearly hit Bernardo Silva's arm which made it change direction and hit Trent's arm. But they keep going it's a penalty , it's penalty . Always tryna take the shine from my dearest Liverpool in a match we totally bossed. . Liverpool have been better this season accept it . 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: So, it's a start then... Things must get better from here. At least they all acknowledged some of these glaring errors like the Man United-Aston Villa game. |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:40am On Jul 26, 2020 |
Tamel: Man City should have had a penalty for Trent Alexander-Arnold handball and the error illustrates VAR is not working In my opinion it is exactly the sort of clear and obvious error that VAR was introduced to deal with, and City should have had a spot kick. The error was made particularly painful by the fact Liverpool had gone straight up the other end and scored, and so it is not hard to see why Guardiola was so irate. I felt that Alexander-Arnold’s arm was away from his body, and his intervention prevented the ball from reaching a City player at the back post - making it a clear handball. In contrast, the penalty shout at the end against the same player was correctly not given because Alexander-Arnold’s arm was by his side and he had no time to react as it was hit straight at him from close range. I have seen suggestions that because the ball hit Bernardo Silva’s hand before striking Alexander-Arnold the officials would not have been able to award City a penalty. Crucially, the Premier League insisted a spot kick was not awarded because Alexander-Arnold’s hand was not in an unnatural position, rather than because of Silva’s role in the incident. Taking them at face value I believe they have made the wrong call, https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/11/10/manchester-city-should-have-had-penalty-fortrent-alexander-arnold/amp/ Even if they say it was not a penalty, why allow fabinho's goal stand? |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:44am On Jul 26, 2020 |
Tamel: The var officials clearly said the deflected ball to Trent's arn was not the reason thdy did not give a penalty but because Arnold's arm was not in an unnatural position which is a bloody lie. In the rule, Bernardo made no move to gain advantage with his arm, so it was not in the picture. That is why watching the video is important and proves var officials bias to help Liverpool. If they didn't want to give a penalty but agree an obvious handball, why let the goal of fabinho stand? |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by Tamel(m): 11:48am On Jul 26, 2020 |
TheGoodJoe: That is exactly what baffles me with them analyst... So let's assume the ball didn't hit Trent's arm , and instead got to aguero right and he ends up sticking it in the back of the goalpost, would the goal have stood? Knowing clearly the ball hit Silva's arm and changed the direction of the ball. I think the referee allowed the match to go on since he didn't see anything wrong and besides city had a good chance to clear their lines before the Fabinho goal. |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by mrLhanray(m): 11:52am On Jul 26, 2020 |
paulolee: trash, Liverpool won the league on merit... Lovren blocked the ball which deflected of City players arms, before meeting Arnold's arm in a natural position. did you watch the match? Var is Justice, City would not have won the FA cup couple of seasons ago, when they robbed Swansea with a clear offside goal and an unworthy penalty. it's now VAR is biased |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:57am On Jul 26, 2020 |
Tamel: The handball led to the goal. Why let Fabinho's goal stand? The EPL and Var said Bernardo's handball was not the reason for them not given the penalty. Within the rules, Bernardo did not do wrong. If Arnold did not stop the ball, and Sterling scored, the goal would have stood if thdh went to var fairly. Yet, Trent reached for the ball, the officials lied his hand was in a natural position. The handball by Trent led to a goal by Fabinho. Should have been ruled out. A clear case of the var officials working in favour of Liverpool. |
Re: What The EPL Table Would Look Like Without VAR by BabaIbo: 11:58am On Jul 26, 2020 |
paulolee: Cry Liverpool a river biko. That's the only point you saw or have, there was a season Liverpool led the 2nd team by a 7 points gap and still lost the league. What about the season Mane got a red for an offence that should have been a yellow card at most, that was the same or even worse offence another player committed but got yellow that same season or season after that, but you are here complaining of a season which Liverpool led by 8 points in November. There was a foul by B. Silva before the ball touched Trent's hand, moreover it was the natural position for Trent's hand, the ball only touched his hand because of the bounce on B. Silva's hand ball. Congratulate Liverpool and stop hating. YNWA!

TheGoodJoe: Lol Bernardo's arm deflected the ball to aguero's path,so yea he did a lot wrong, the goal would have been chalked off if VAR was to take an unbiased look at it . Take a look at mahrez fifth goal in city's 4-0 thrashing of Liverpool, chalked off for the same reason. Although I thought that was a bit soft and the goal should have stood Because it had little effect on the motion of the ball . |
