My landlord which happens to be my colleague burgled my apartment and lied i gave him the properties he stole to sell.

Good day nairalanders, my name is GODWIN VICTOR, i reside in JOS, RAYFIELD. I work with samsung as SSE(samsung service engineer), am incharge of jos branch. I want to report a case of theft and bad security.

So before the first 2weeks of partial lockdown that was declared i was expecting 4 brand new phones to be given to customers which never came until during the partial lockdown, as at that period i was at home when the courier service called me on 26th of march 2020 that our office is locked that they have an item to be delivered to me, i went to their office to collect the item and took it home, expecting that after the 2 weeks partial lockdown i would resume back to work so i would deliver the phones to the customers. As at the period i received the phones was the 1st week of the partial lockdown, so i decided to travel to kaduna to spend the 2nd week with my family and friends. Unknowing to me that this pandemic would be this serious and that lockdown would be extended, i travelled to kaduna on the 28th of march 2020, i was in kaduna when the lockdown was extending so i had to stay behind. So on 14th MAY 2020 i got a call from my landlord by the name MR. MOSES VICTOR NJADANI saying my apartment has been burgled, i pleaded with him to help me go in and check the items i kept inside but he refused that he cant go that he wont want any implications that what he would help me do is lock my burglary for me so no any other theif would go in, that week he called me there was lockdown in kaduna so i had to leave for jos the following week on one of the days lockdown was relaxed on 21st MAY 2020, when i got home i had to wait for my landlord to come open the burglary he helped me lock, so we both entered my apartment that evening and i saw that my apartment was empty only my bed was left, it was late for me to report the case that day so i left it the next day to report the case to the police station, the following morning i dressed up for work and with the plan of going to the police station to report the case, i dont know anywhere in jos so my landlord agreed to take me to one of the police station, on our way going we met with one of the neighbour in the neighbouring area, he was saying hello to me and asking me how was my journey, my landlord now told him that they burgled my house, the man felt sorry for me and asked me if i didn't lost anything important, so i told about all that was stolen including the 4 brand new phones, so he advice i track the phones which i already had in mind to do, mind you my landlord was there when we were talking about it, we were all rubbing minds together on how to catch the thief, then i and my landlord left for work...

Pls Note: my landlord happens to be my colleague in the office, he was the one that got the apartment for our company during when our company was trying to secure a place for the engineer that will be incharge in jos, how my landlord got employed i dont know but it was under the position that the management needed someone that knows the area(JOS) very well that he was employed.

...to cut the long story short, when we got to the office, my colleague stood outside the office door and gave me the spare key of the office that he his not working again, i asked him why but his reason were that he cant handle the way the company pays his salary, that they pay the following month and that the pay was too small.., fine i told him ok lets go to the police station then he changed his mind that he cant go that he wants to go and see someone, so i left him. I had to ask the manager of the phone plaza cos that's where we rented our office, i told him about my experience and he directed me to go to one SARZ at BUKURU, JOS to make my complaints, when i got there the SARZ there told me it's not under their jurisdiction anymore that i should go to ANGLO JOS DIVISION, RAYFIELD JOS. When i got there i laid my complaints and told them i would like to track the phones, from the way they were talking i couldn't trust that they can track the phones so took the tracking elsewhere, i called someone from kaduna to track the phones for me where i paid a sum of 60k, 2 device were tracked and i was given the information of the people using the phones that i should give it to the IPO incharge of the case, when i got there i was charged 50k to apprehend those people, one of the customer was caught and was questioned and they led the police to a particular dealer (by the name JOHNSON SKY) that she bought the phone from, the Mr. JOHNSON was arrested and was brought in for questioning on how he got the phones, MR. JOHNSON was able to deny that it wasn't the phone he sold, because his client didn't collect any receipt from him as at the period he bought the phone due to the relationship between them, the investigations and interrogation went on for 2 weeks and Mr.Johnson kept denying it, unknowing to Mr.Johnson that the police had caught the 2nd customer Mr.Johnson sold to with the receipt of Mr.Johnson, so on that faithful day we are to be brought in to the DPO office for questioning, everyone was present including my landlord, there and then after Mr.Johnson was caught he confessed that it was my colleague that sold the phones to him, then he pointed at my landlord, everybody was shocked that period even the police, the DPO requested my landlord to standup and asked him that "were you not the one that called your tenant that his apartment was burgled" then he said yes, "so how were you in possession of the phones" then my landlord claimed i gave him the phones to sell, after series of questioning the police found out he was telling lies, so they detained him that day and the following morning i learnt they bailed him, when i asked the police why the words that was used was that its a bailable offence that investigation is still going on, from that day till now that am typing this message nothing has been done concerning the case, customers of the phones have been on my neck, have not been able to work cos the management said i have to recover all the items before i resume back to work... am expecting a baby from my fiancee and i dont have any money to take care of her, surviving has been very difficult for me cos i dont have any other means aside my job, while the theifs has been living his life to the fullest. I was able to gather that the said Mr.Johnson was the one that brought Mr.Moses Victor Njadani(my landlord) to the police station the day we are to meet with the DPO, so he had already planned with my landlord on how they will compromise the case, so i suspect Mr.Johnson was aware from the start that the phones he bought from my landlord was a stolen phone, cos i also gathered some information from the people that were present that the day Mr.Moses Victor Njadani wanted to sell the phones they asked him how he got the phones and he was saying that our company has refused to pay him his salary and due to that he wants to sell the phones that was given to the company to give to customers, although nobody is willing to come out and help me cos the said Mr.Johnson is a big dealer and their business friends in the market. Have been following up with the police on the case and each time they tell me they will get back to me, that they are waiting for the COMMISSIONER OF POLICE (CP) reply concerning one petition that was filed against them concerning the case, that Mr.Johnson issued a petition again the Division saying that my landlord and the police are trying to fraud him, each time i call the police they keep telling me they are waiting for the CPs reply that they will get back to me, now the matter has ever since been like, other legal options i took to get justice requires money and am really broke to an extent i cant feed, surviving has been really hard for me and at the same time customers are really on my neck, have explained the situation of things to the customers and how the police kept telling me to wait but the customers are really out of their patience.

In has much i try to brief my situation i understand is still long but please i really need justice, pls help me forward till it get to the higher authorities or if there is anyone that can help me in anyway possible...

Pls am begging cos i will soon be a father and i dont even have any finances to take care of my fiancee, am an easy going person, am about getting it right for me and my family and then this happened. Pls i need someone to help me in anyway possible.

Am a nairalander and this is my acct i used in making this post, if there is anyone willing to help and needs any futher information pls comment below so i would follow up. Thanks.

Wow...naija we hail thee!!! Your landlord is the real "aseni ba ni daro" (someone sympathising with you while hurting you) and he deserves a big punishment. Have you tried Twitter? I suggest you tag the likes of segalink and co. So sad when you caught the thief but still find it difficult to retrieve your stolen stuff!

Op, so sad. Follow @manofsteal as it seems he wants to help. OR go to twiter and tag IG and human right, surely they will pay for the phones and also the money u spent tracking it. The shop owner who bought the phones, you publish his shop address, full names or still go to any media outlet and tell the world the story since the police has compromised.

bro, don't take this lightly please. don't also trust this person asking you to meet him at the shop of a criminal who sold your phones. please post this story on Twitter and tag @segalink and @ruggedybaba, also upload the pictures of everyone involved in this matter before it gets out of hand. in case you don't know, they can pay the police to kill you and close the case. therefore act quickly and post this on Twitter.

search for segalink and ruggedman and tag them. I believe that they will contact the commissioner of police in your state to solve the problem. don't give anybody money oo! stay strong. may God punish every perverter of justice.

So sorry about your loss, but the lesson here is that one should be very careful in situation like this. Weigh what you loose & weigh what it requires to find it... if it does not worth it... abandon such & continue with your life cos I believe God will reward you..... from your story you have spent a lot & still yielded zero results. Summarily speaking & lesson of the day; The money you loose is a bad money cos you may or may not get it back & the money in your hand is a good money cos it is not stolen.. still yours. So , mostly throwing good money after bad money so as to seek or recover the bad money mostly puts one in a colossal loss. Any help that will require you putting more tens or hundreds thousands of naira in seeking it should be abandoned before you are milked dry. I pray you Get help & favour from God not from humans. Shalom!
