Police report! Police report!! Police report!!! Every living Nigerian is a potential victim of this useless police report. Instead of our lawmakers to address this issue constitutionally and properly, they merely gave a blank order that doctors should treat patients before asking for police report. Who wants to risk his or her practising licence?

He killed some one over an ordinary snack, for him to have dat gun, I'm sure of one thing, either he's part of the force,armed robber, kidnapper or a thug.
He will live his remaining miserable life in total pain. U shall be caught sooner than u think

The so-called Merit Hospital must be closed down immediately. Whoever was the doctor that refused to treat the injured person did not adhere to hypocratic oath he swore to.
What sort of USELESS POLICE ORDER would stop a true doctor from treating a patient with bullet wound?
A true police officer knows that if a wounded armed robbery suspect is saved from dying, he shall help the police to fish out accomplices of the robber and mode of operations of robbers.

Akinola said, “Immediately the incident happened , his friends rushed him to the Merit Hospital where he was rejected because there was no police report.
He was later referred to the General Hospital, Otta, Ogun State, where he was cleaned up and transferred to the General Hospital in Abeokuta.

“But instead of taking him to Abeokuta, they took him to a native doctor to remove the bullet from his body and returned him to the General Hospital in Otta, but he was rejected. He died on the way to another hospital.[/s]

something is seriously wrong with Nigeria , why arrest the bar owners and shawarma seller. It is obvious they are just witnesses and not suspects .In a real world , the police should be sued ffs. I can't can anymore

I think they did that because the first two hospitals rejected him...they were only trying to save him, however, ignorantly embarassed

It would even be better if all hospitals report the case immediately to the nearest police station once they commence treatment, doing such will tip off the police on time and when they get to the hospital they can do their investigations to ascertain if the person that had been shot is a criminal or not.

You guys don't know how to read in between. They took him first to MERIT hospital which you want to be closed and then GENERAL HOSPITAL TOO....Why not close the general hospital who referred him to another one too? Nigerians usually misinterpret referral to rejection. The so called MERIT obviously did not have the capability to handle it. All they needed to do at most was just set up a drip like normal saline and then REFER. In the process, they may ask for POLICE REPORT but that doesn't mean they are referring for lack of police report. For you to know how critical the case was....the general hospital too REFERRED TO ANOTHER GENERAL HOSPITAL. It means the case was meant for a tertiary centre probably with CRITICAL CARE UNIT. The problem we have is the referral system which you can blame on govt. There should be free ambulance services that anyone can call that will take them to appropriate centres. You present a bad case to a glorified clinic and they ask you to go to general hospital, you will start blaming them that they rejected you. What should they do? They can't handle it....it is not the same thing as rejection. However when patient are reporting it, they will term it rejection because you asked them to take him to general hospital. They will keep saying....help us to attend to him now.

I'd say its a military personnel or a policeman. That sounds like something they will do. A thug or armed robber may call his cronies to beat up people and wreck the place.

this order of police report b4 attending to a gunshot wound is very barbaric, it should be abolished.
if merit hospital had done the needful maybe he could still be alive and the friends wouldn't have to resort to a herbalist.

Their first priority should be to save lives, anything else is up to the police to take care of. Just imagine how many innocent people have died from ridiculous practices like this. I don't know why we do things backwards in this country.
