Hello wonderful People.

Please I need guidance for a Nigerian Chartered Accountant who will be coming to work in the UK, wife is a health worker who already secured a job and resides in the UK.

1. What are the necessary courses or exams he needs to take for a good career start,

2. what are his chances of moving his career ahead in the UK.

3. Is there a support group or social media threads he can follow for proper guidance and mentorship.

Thank you.

1. I am guessing you are an ICAN member. Fortunately, in the big 4, ICAN is recognised. I am not sure of other companies in the industry cos I am new here too. But I will strongly recommend you use ICAN-ICAEW pathway program to get ICAEW to brighten your chances (I am doing that too). at least, it does not require any exams written under a controlled environment.

2. See number one.

3. I don't know

Doesnt have to but it more organized that way . ... I think a letter and supporting document to show it the same person is sufficient

Your wife doesn't need to bear your name. The most important thing is the marriage certificate

Good day everyone. I am a Tier 2 holder who just arrived in the UK 2 weeks ago. Is it possible for newbies like myself to apply for a credit card? If yes or no, When ready, which credit card can you recommend? Thanks.
Please what job is that, how did you get the job, how long did you apply before getting a job offer, did you apply from Nigeria, did you write IELTS as proof of English? I'd appreciate your response please, thanks in advance.

You could have waited until she comes overseas then you change her name so you can be happy...
Now you’ll incur unnecessary expenses as well as lengthy explanation to embassy......
Get those documents sorted and hopefully you’ll be successful..... all the best bro

Still on the UK's descent to nothingness

So for those who have been popping champagne and shouting hurray at Oxford/AstraZeneca's so-called covid-19 trial putting the efficiency of their "concotion" at 90%, well the truth is gradually coming out (see link below - free if you mobile phones).

https://www.ft.com/content/4583fbf8-b47c-4e78-8253-22efcfa4903a

As an academic, one thing the UK is showing me daily is that it is becoming a mediocre country with so much emphasis on baloney (Hancock, BoJo and Gove).

While approval from the USFDA is most likely (since threshold is 50%), we may want to exercise caution and see the long term effects of these cocktails so we don't end up with strange sicknesses in the long-run.

We await more disclosures shortly from their publication.

Caveat: The UK still offers enormous opportunities for young Nigerians as its gradual decline will first need to assume institutional status before it can begin to generate crisis.

Me I dey fear this vaccine. The little microbiology/biochemistry courses I took at uni are coming back to me and I know that MRNA has to do with dna nucleus. There is no way I am going to allow anyone to inject another organisms dna into me. What of if like spider man the two DNA fuses to form a different organism?
Everything that is happening today we used to watch in films, so no one should come here and say it can’t happen because the truth is nobody really knows. It’s all trial and error.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by brine(m): 11:33pm On Nov 26, 2020
Hi guys, does it makes sense for your Uni in Uk to provide unsigned and unstamped letter although with letter heading as proof of qualification for Tier 2 application?

This was included in the last paragraph:
"Please note this letter is unsigned and unstamped at the moment as I am working from home with limited facilities.

Yours faithfully"

Good day everybody.

Please, my total payable tuition fee is £16,950. I got discount of £4,000 and I have paid £7,500 so far, leaving me with a balance of £5,450 payable, my school is located outside London £1023 x 9 = £9207.
A total of £14,657 is needed as POF for me. Using oanda’s exchange rate is will be needing NGN7,415,410

My dad is my sponsor and he has NGN6,954,930
I have about NGN3,000,000 in my personal account, which makes up the POF.
Now the issue is in my account I have withdrawn and deposited funds in it since the past 28days but it has never gone below NGN2,000,000. To be clearer in the last 28days I started with an opening balance of NGN7,000,000 but right now I have about NGN3,000,000.

Please will the inconsistencies in my account be an issue for visa purposes.

When they a pick your application, and they look at oanda to calculate the money in the two accounts, will it reach the pound equivalent of the money you owe?

If yes, sleep well:

If no. Sorry. Try again another time. You know naira rate and it’s fluctuation.

P.S: your dad could have transferred that money into your account before you started counting your 28 days, so you don’t give two statements- That’s what I did. My dad put over my maintenance money in my account and I just submitted my bank statement and my birth certificate (which is mandatory any way). And I got my visa.

Option 1: (cheap? Option).
Enroll for a Nursing course in Nigeria. Complete the course. Register in Nigeria as a Rwgistered nurse.
Then migrate to the UK.
Caveat: Ngige+Buhari+ASUU can mess you up big time, unless if you want to go to a School of Nursing, rather than University.

Option 2:
(Depending on what your previous qualifications/experience are):
Get admission for masters in Nursing. A a school that is accredited and be sure you can practice when you finish. You may wish to check Hertfordshire Uni, Dundee Uni (I think masters adult nursing there is for 3 years).

Finally:
Do you want to go into nursing because you have passion for the job, or you simply want to leave Buharigeria?

Lol if nursing was a passion, it would have been the first degree! Lol

People need to be care and not be misled. They can’t practice nursing with a masters in nursing unless they have a first degree in nursing. It’s a professional course, you gotta have the first deg to practice.

I am being realistic, I will rather take a vaccine that is a weakened form of the virus which is what most flu vaccines are.

Point of correction, please don’t confuse me with those people who go from one pastor to another looking for miracles.

Hello everyone,

Is there anyone here in Northern Ireland?

If yes, share your experience of living, working and raising a family in that region.

Thanks

1. You will need to register with an accounting body here. I will suggest ACCA as it’s more universal. This way you can have a full time job and study evening or weekends depending on your schedule. Without uk experience you might have to start at a lower level and work your way up.
2. It will be easy for you as you already have the foundation in accounting.
3. Yes there are loads with the ACCA and so many others, loads of support forums etc.
