I get your point, no vex we dey use our naija mind also I have heard that the officers at the borders sometimes ask to see bank statement, so me personally I just feel, to be on the safe side

PMID:

Point of order to everyone! Why do most people always advice against touching the money until u get to the UK? I don’t think there is any rationale behind that.

Is that money not met to be spent in the UK? So why leave the money in Naija and travel to the UK?

When decision has been made and u have ur visa, is it not absolutely proper and correct for U to withdraw ur tuition balance and maintenance fee and change to pounds and take along to the UK?

Even the UKVI website did not say leave the money in Naija bank until u get to the UK but rather leave the money until a decision is made.(And I stand to be corrected)

Pls let’s stop over blowing these rules.

Some relief here. I need £43,000 and I have N23m already counting.

Guess am good to go, praying the exchange rate doesn't suddenly shoot up again.

Thanks again.

That’s very Wrong, asking bank statement at point of Entry? Don’t believe everything you hear

The exchange rate is used on the date you applied online.

The potential turnaround tune starts counting from biometric date

Everything you have said is right. Of cos after getting the visa, you can always touch the money to buy flight tickets, probably book an hotel or sort accommodation wahala from here, buy clothes, shoes, food e.t.c

But in this context, I believe what people mean by not touching the money means “the money should also be available to them for use in the uk”.

Meaning that after getting the visa, they shouldn’t go and return all those millions of naira to the original owner and probably leave a few hundreds of thousands in the account.

In as much as a border officer may not particularly ask you for your bank statement, he has the right to ask you for evidence of funds. and this can be shown in several ways apart from showing your bank statement.

I don’t know what you are calculating but I believe if you are going for a 1 year masters course. The total should be 705 pounds

470 (1yr) + 235 (6months). I may be wrong

Hey guys. Please how do I account for study gaps? I graduated at 20 from undergrad and I have been working for the last 12 years. Do I write to them saying I have been working for the last 12 years and showing proofs of my employment letters?

Is that how to tackle this question?

They also asked to provide an official copy of my WAEC certificate. Do I need to go to WAEC office to get that?

Check that it is actually pounds, most probably its $987. In pounds, it should be 705 pounds.

Yes to all

You need a reference letter from work to support the claim
