Does 70k Salary Make Good Sense In This Lagos? by mayorcon(m): 10:33am On Jan 21, 2021 |
So I just got this job offer that offers to pay me 70k in Lagos in an industry where the starting salary should be at least 100k. Considering high cost goods, transportation etc in Lagos. Please, I need advice, should I take this or just wait for a better offer? As simple as this question seems, I am terribly confused. Note: I know 80% of responses I will get here are from secondary kids that are still feeding under their parents, (I forgive you in advance) but I need advice from experienced good people of this platform? What would you advise me to do? I appreciate. 1 Like |

Manage it for now and keep looking out for better offers. Don't leave the job unless you find a better offer. 2 Likes |

In life there's always a starting point. A general in the army doesn't just wake up as a general, likewise the MD of a bank. They all started from somewhere, and grew themselves into that position through hard work. I will therefore advise you accept the offer, and see it as a starting point. Its better than being idle, you've got bills to pay and personal needs and expenses to make, if you aren't working in this present economic crisis, believe me, things are going to be very much difficult for you. Gain the relevant work experience required so you can boost your CV and keep one eye on the lookout for something much better. Good luck. 2 Likes |
