Ponzi schemes have been around forever & pose tremendous risks to millions. I wonder why d CBN hasn't deemed it fit to "restrict them in order to safeguard Nigerians, financial system" as it's doing with crypto and bitcoin

Paxful Peer to Peer

Buyers meet sellers sellers meet buyers, they negotiate and conclude on payment options including bank transfer

Paxful holds the Bitcoin until the seller recieves a bank alert from the buyer

CBN has no way to separate Bank Transfer which was done for BTC sale on Paxful, all transfers are same

Kidnapping, money laundering, terrorism, weapon smuggling, political financial frauds has been happening b4 cryptocurrency comes into existence.
Politicians changes NGN to dollars & fritters it to western world,d same Emefiele open d vaults of CBN for gej & PDP to cart away our FX reserve some of this money is d causes of terrorism, indulgence, economic downturn.
Now inflow of FDI will reduce,d bank will has less savings or deposit, reduce commissions, some banks will close shop.
Let me remind CBN that terrorists, kidnappers, fraudsters, money launderers, drug traffickers also use d battered naira & foreign currencies to perpetrate crimes.
Why has they not block there sources & arrest them.
How did our oil dollars find there way into d hands of d northerners who are BDCs or black market operators who later sold it to BH, northern bandits which they use to acquire arms that is for crime agst nigerians.

Inteltower:
Pls don't be deceived as these people in power speak from 2 sides of their mouth.

They may have listed tangible reasons as to why they banned transactions in crypto

But get this:

1) CBN by it use of the word regulation means freezing your accounts when you are supporting a protest financially or to do something that challenges govt. By not doing certain things they the government want would mean closing ur account or restricting u financially.
They take away your financial independence which cryptpcurrency offers

2) The Alternative they are forcing us to abide is failing naira which only depreciates in your bank account
Compare a #10 naira fiat currency and a #10 naira in bitcoin, which has more appreciation value ?

3) They forgot to add among the financial system is their excessive bank charges monthly/annually, how about dollar restrictions but exemptions to piligrims and finally the worthless bank interests they give u on your money

4) Its not today that crime started, why haven't they banned the legal tender: Naira since it has been repeatedly used in fraud and kidnapping. Mind u some coins that were used for criminal activities can be traced

Some call it ponzi scheme, I call it liberty to an ever changing/advanced world and independently i wont play catch up.
Only those that lack understanding of what crypto is would call it ponzi or scam and am so sorry for u

They used corruption to destroy our economy which still happens today which has led us in being a consumption based economy, to roll out great policies and support youth startups then was war for them.

Now they want us all to grow in the backward pace of economy

A lot of people backing this sanction are the ruling class, not middle or lower class. They don't know where it pinches for a lot of persons. They havent stopped corruption which has put Nigeria in what it is today, a far greater evil
But to ban crypto; a financial innovation legal to the community that accepts it

See how the cornered the crime of fraud to youths just to blame crypto

Hmm I tire. Make we break up

are you minding the fools

The entire world is going digital and the first digital currency bank (Anchorage) has been floated in the US.
Soon Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) will be the transaction route with XRP ledgers being the infrastructure for cross-border financial transactions while here, some troglodytes are trying to return Nigeria to the stone age. What a waste of a Country
