Zenith has finally dropped for November

Promotion starts from the last promotion date to July 2022. So some persons will enjoy three or even four promotions while others will enjoy two depending on your effective date.

If your last promotion's effective date is July 2010 for instance, you will receive promotions for July 2013, July 2016, July 2019 and July 2022. That means four times promotion. This is for teachers who were employed in June 2007.

If your last promotion's effective date is January 2011 for instance, you will receive promotions for January 2014, January 2017 and January 2020. That means three times promotion. This is for teachers who were employed in December 2007.

For teachers who were employed in August 2013 for instance, you will receive promotions for January 2017, January 2020 and January 2023. That means three times promotion. 2013 teachers were suppose to only enjoy two times promotion since the promotion exercise ends on July 2022, but the Executive Chairman of UBE Board instructed all the SDs to include January 2023 for them so they can enjoy three promotions. So you guys should be grateful to the Board Chairman for his benevolence towards you. Those of us employed in December 2007 didn't enjoy that benevolence that's why ours stopped at January 2020 which now keeps us on Level 13 instead of Level 14. But those employed in June 2007 were fortunate to reach Level 14 because their effective date fell on July 2022.

So all those employed in December 2007, don't bother making any case. You are currently placed on Level 13 and not 14 because the exercise as instructed by the state government ends on July 2022 which didn't capture your Level 14 promotion. You will be due Level 14 when the next promotion which will cover January 2023 begins. I don't know when that will happen.

We were told at the board that there were mistakes, and that those on pension will receive 127 and those that are not on pension will receive 134. (For 2013 teachers that were employed on 8/3 and 8/4)

The issue of 4k deduction is a dead horse.
If you listen or met the discussion, it was a good avenue to get some answers.
Did you or anyone ask about teachers promotion letter and it's subsequent implementation??

I am surprise that people are breaking their heads about 4k and are mute about promotion.
For me I think the promotion is more important

that is what we all said when it was brought to our knowledge especially the 2013 teachers, surprisingly some 2007 (about 10 teachers from my school. Ube) applied early December, and their January salary got increased with about 17k

Organised Labour in Nasarawa rejects verification by Ministry of Finance
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Rivers State chapter, has ordered its members to observe sit-at-home from Monday, unless government addresses the lingering fuel and cash scarcity faced in the state.

State chairperson, Mrs. Beatrice Itubo, in an interview said the civil servants in the state would directed to stay at home because the scarcity of fuel is affecting workers income.

She spoke following the scarcity of fuel, cash and hike in transportation fare, stressing that their members were facing untold hardship and would not continue living in such a condition.

“It is not a threat. It is not a strike. It is a sit at home directive. I have issued a press release and it is starting from Monday.

“Workers cannot be spending the salaries on the huge transport fare and other issues. We can’t continue this. If government fails to address these problems, from where will they get money to be spending on transportation.”

Meanwhile, a Port Harcourt resident, Mike Chikere, who is self-employed, lamented that he begged a POS operator on Sunday, give him N5,000. But he was given an option to pay N1,500 for N5,000.

‘I had no option than to collect N3,500. It’s very painful to parents that have children. You can’t endure watching your family members starve.

“I went to several POS operators today (Sunday). Other places were telling me they would give me N1,000 but would collect N200, meaning N800 I will go home with.

“Another person (POS operator) said each N500 I will pay N100. I am confused I don’t what is happening. I don’t know other people are passing through what I am going through.”
