PoliticsRe: 5 Strong Reasons Why Peter Obi Should Lead The Opposition Coalition (Opinion) by 00FFT00(m): 10:57am On Apr 26, 2025
mrvitalis:
Did you believe he would pull that figure in 2023 ? Won more states than Tinubu?
Did you believe he would beat Tinubu in Lagos?
And, without any structure of criminality.
No governor or senators.
Just 4 people tweeting in a room.

In 2023, Peter Obi was a choice for Nigeria. In 2027, he is a necessity for survival. Nigeria needs veritable governance now more than at anytime in its history.

No more unbridled corruption, economic and financial recklessness or inedptitude. The intentional mismanagement of our diversity which birthed the insecurity that is threatening to upend our statehood.

Peter Obi is a choice in 2023. He has become a necessity today, and, definitely in 2027.

No armed guards, no siren-blaring bulletproof cars, no segregation and no sycophants everywhere. This is the Nigeria they have denied us. Thunder will scatter Nigeria's politicians.

Lol.....

Like I said..... I voted for him... same way many northerners voted for him agaisnt their own son, Atiku.

Let's see how that will unfold in 2027...

After Peter Obi won those 4 states in the North, did he ever thank them or appreciated them after the elections was over?
Were you in Gabon when Peter was touring the north, drilling boreholes in the north, engaging Almajiri children, and engaging northern stakeholders among other altruistic deeds?. You have the right to support your candidate, but you do not have to lie and denigrate another.

SmartPolician:
You have no idea how powerful governors are, especially when they have good relationship with the Commissioner of Police and the GOC of the state's military barracks.

In short, elections can only be free and fair if the governor of a state wants it to be. Where he wants otherwise, he will mobilize security operatives and men to rewrite the results and nobody can do anything about it.

Dey play!!
Just a reminder that a sitting governor, Enugu state governor, lost his senate bid to Labour Party candidate. A party without a governor at the time.

I tell people all the time, if you know the large population of Chinese studying in American universities, you won't blame Trump for his "protectionist policies" as you can all see because the Chinese would NEVER allow such influx into their academic space even if you could afford it!.......#fact

These Chinese are very "desperate" to the extent that they almost stole Coca-Cola "secret recipe" but they failed miserably!!
Non-desperate Nigerians have been studying in the same United States since the 1920s. What effect has it brought to the country besides fake accent and Tinubu?. Dem ban una from thieving “secret recipe” that would've made life better for the Nigerian?.

These are lazy, illiterate indigenes of the Southwest whose examination fees were paid for by the Lagos State government. The Southeast has been leading education in Nigeria since Peter Obi repositioned the Anambra school system during his tenure as governor.

Bro, point of correction - Obi won in 36 States plus Ghana and Social media. INEC just decided to credit him with only 11 States. God will judge them grin

You are free to believe whatever makes you happy.

PoliticsRe: ONLY Option For Atiku And Obi Is To Merge And Enter The Race by 00FFT00(m): 3:50pm On Apr 24, 2025
IPIGSRSHALLOW:
Yes, Tinubu lost in Lagos simply because lots of Igbos have abandoned their states and now reside in Lagos. Tinubu lost by 8000 votes, not by a lot in an election of a million plus.
Obi won in the SE simply because the vast majority of voters there are Igbos. You don't need to be a political genius to figure that one out. It's pure common sense.
In the 2023 elections, INEC controversially credited Tinubu with 12 states, while Peter Obi, who secured clear victories in at least 14 states, was officially recorded with only 11 or 12, including the FCT. This discrepancy, attributed to INEC's questionable conduct, highlights the significant credibility gap surrounding the election outcome.

Tinubu entered the race as the establishment’s preferred candidate, but that sentiment has since shifted. His ongoing efforts to consolidate power may prove insufficient if his administration continues to be defined by incompetence, crass nepotism, resurging insecurity, and disregard for those who contributed to his rise.

The northern region remains a pivotal force in Nigerian politics. It is foreseeable that Atiku Abubakar may be encouraged to step aside in favor of a Peter Obi–Bala Mohammed ticket, potentially with the support of influential religious leaders mobilizing grassroots sentiment. Meanwhile, Rabiu Kwankwaso, widely known to have aligned with Tinubu's interests in the last presidential election, will remain a very marginal player in future power dynamics.

Despite the strategic maneuvers Tinubu and his allies may attempt, the 2027 general election is poised to be one of the most fiercely contested in Nigeria’s history.

You can't breathe on the smog-choked streets of Lagos. Generator fumes and unfiltered vehicle exhaust have been killing Nigerians year after year. People in the Niger Delta cannot farm or fish because of pollution. Isn't it true that charity begins at home?

Foreign AffairsRe: Ibrahim Traoré Responds To US' Threats Of Removing Him And Invading Burkina Faso by 00FFT00(m): 10:24am On Apr 23, 2025
Ikaeniyan0:
Ibrahim Traore committed treason when he carried out a coup in Burkina Faso. He will eventually be removed by force too.
A coup can take many forms.

It’s not only the violent seizure of power through military force. It is also the subversion of democratic processes, such as rigging an election or bribing electoral officials to falsify results in order to illegitimately seize control of a nation.

By this definition, what happened with the 2023 Nigerian presidential election is nothing short of a civilian coup. The question Nigerians must ask now is this: if a man gains power through deceit and manipulation, should he not be held accountable for treason?. And if so, why is he still in office?.

If we are to defend democracy, we cannot turn a blind eye to its betrayal.:

By your own submission, should Tinubu not be considered to have committed treason and should be removed?.

PoliticsRe: "President Tinubu Is In London" - Bayo Onanuga by 00FFT00(m): 9:58pm On Apr 17, 2025
This situation highlights growing concerns among Nigerians regarding the extent to which their leaders prioritize their welfare. The apparent lack of accountability, transparency, and patriotic responsibility is troubling. It draws attention to a broader pattern of leadership across certain regions, where public trust is increasingly challenged by actions that seem disconnected from the expectations of responsible governance.

Obviously, this should serve as a stark reminder to Nigerians of how little value their leaders place on their lives and well-being, in a show of glaring absence of shame, honor, or genuine patriotism. Only despots and aging autocrats, who show no regard for the people they govern, conduct themselves in such a manner. The likes of Bongo, Buhari, Biya, Tinubu etc., exemplify a pattern. Men whose leadership is marked by questionable values and a profound deficit of integrity.

Travelling they say is part of education.. the moment you start travelling, your eyes will open to so many hidden things.

The Nupes I for one never knew had that much population in Nigeria till I started interacting with them.. they are in Kwara and Niger State (which is more than x3 the entire South East region).

In Anambra, the Igalas have huge numbers.. core Igbos are in Abia, Enugu and Imo. Anambra is mixed, Ebonyi have their own dialect and attimes claim not to be Igbos. Even the Igbos from Abia, Anambra, Imo and Enugu do not regard Ebonyi people as real Igbos.. So tell me how the Igbo population will match that of Nupes who spread across big States in North Central.

Lastly, I separated the Fulanis from Hausas simply because they are different people, different in physique, body build and mentality, however they share similar culture due to years of interaction and inter-marriage between the two tribes.
Ordinarily, I would have listed Hausa/Fulani as 1 followed by Yorubas in 2nd place but for clarity sake, Hausas are the majority while Fulanis are more of minority in terms of population.
Typical Yoruba hate speech.
Sorry, I can't waste anymore of my time engaging you.

Slightly lower than that of Igbos.. from Sokoto to Katsina to Adamawa, you'll find them.. even in Kwara (ilorin) and parts of South East, they have population.
You are either ignorant of the census composition of Nigeria, or you are being intentionally disingenuous.

The most populous ethnic groups in Nigeria are
1. Yorubas
2. Hausas
3. Nupes
4. Igbos
5. Fulanis
6. others.
What is the population of the Fulani in Nigeria.

I know emotions are high but this is not the best time for anyone to speak. Non Arewa's will never know the pain our people are going through. We are being persecuted in and outside our lands.

Hausa's are not Fulani's. We are peaceful and learned people.

We love to share.

We deserve to be loved.

All we have done is live peacefully and open our arms to receive everyone, including the Fulani's. But what did we get in return?
The Hausa have not been fair to the rest of us either. While I agree that the Hausa are also victims of Fulani atrocities, they could also be accused of collusion.

It is only recently that we have started to hear "Hausa is not Fulani". This demarcation has been blurred in the Arewa coalition because it has benefited you.

The Hausa must clearly distinguish themselves from these Fulani criminals so that we will know who to talk to in Fulfulde, the language of violence they ultimately understand.
