Please nairalanders, I need urgent help with regards my HP Compaq nx6310 Laptop, I just formatted it, and I need drivers for the sound, but the driver i downloaded for the manfacturers website (hp) aren't working with it. I have tried somany alternative. What do I do please?

First of, u should have burned your recovery partiton onto a DVD, please always do tht, u're pretty screwed now cuz u didnt do tht.
wht OS did u install? Vista? yay i hope not! anyways best opt would be the manufacturer's site, or google or driverguide.com or full computer forums where u might see someone with same prob as u and u might see a solution not already mentioned here.
wishing u d best man, always do backups, they're painless although time consuming.

Do you have HP laptop starter CD installation? It has all drivers and operating system inside CD installation to restore your laptop in case of reformatting purpose or operating system replacement.

Please refer to your laptop user manual how to install CD installation. After that, then you will need to download Windows Service pack upgrade.
