The Deputy Comptroller of the prison, Mr. Noel Ailewon, had said Orji was in a bad state and had gone completely mad.
“Orji’s health is getting worse. He has gone completely mad, vomiting and even defecating without restraint and is naked most of the time” he said.
“As at Thursday, Orji was fine but on Friday morning, he died in his sleep. The cause of his death is still unknown but an autopsy is being performed,” he said.

He died Of the typical late features of Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy ( Kuru Disease) - Well known among Cannibals.It is surprising that he lived this long.

12 years in kirikiri will drive anyone mad; especially when serving time for a crime that hasn't yet been tried in court, with the other culprits walking free.

i am seriously thinking that mans case was worsen by d fact dat some big wigs in d country were behind his incaceration nd wnt want him to blow their identity open,he was alleged to cnfess to been patrinised by sme wealthy cabals way back then, and most hospitals rejected him not for those horrible reasons they gave but wt undertone of wanting to protect their image, kidnapping wld have startde then, he ld either have been killed by those behind this or kidnapped, our ldrs r not just sincere n truthful , it all happened close to my house in oshodi then. Solozzo: I think human rights organizations should take up the case and sue the responsible agencies- Drs, hospital and prison services for negligence and culpable homicude. Especially the psych hosp that refused to accept him for treatment. Why was he not taken to Aro with long stay facilities. A psychiatrist could have attended to him in the prison. A 6 to 8 weeks admission would have made a lot of difference.

After all, Clifford was a vulnerable Nigerian citizen who was not proven guilty of any offences yet. He was also a registered patient of yaba psych hosp.. Maybe anyone's turn tomorrow. Justice must prevail. A commission of inquiry should be set up to investigate the case

I really love Nigeria. This is a country where the citizens forgive and forget after a few years. Orji ate people. He was caught red handed. He also supplied a number of people with human parts. In prison he suffered from Kuru. A disease he brought on himself by his cannibalism. This leads to his death. I for one I'm sooo thankful that he was taken off the streets. The prison, big wigs, and Nigeria did not fail or cause his death. He did. Neither did his tribe. He is totally responsible for his death.
