Fuel scarcity in Abuja will persist as the oil workers say  they will continue to boycott the capital.
Oil workers have suspended a nationwide strike, originally scheduled to start on Thursday.
The workers, under the auspices of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers, decided to suspend the strike following the intervention of the Senate.
Punch Newspapers reports that Achese Igwe, the president of the union announced late Wednesday that the strike had been put on hold.
Abuja residents will however continue to suffer fuel scarcity, which began last week, as the oil workers decided to continue their boycott of the nation’s capital.
The Senate Committee on Petroleum (downstream) had met with both the oil workers and the finance ministry, Wednesday, to avert the strike.
