@Op, be careful this is your last warning angry
Even the Bible said that the poor shall not cease in the land so I wonder how they plan a city without the poor in mind! Meanwhile, what is it with Nairalanders and GARRI

berem: Seems the minister have not heard of the word "migration".how do you intend to plan a federal capital territory to accomodate only 1million people? And morever its not meant for the common man! What a disgusting statement.

i think he is rigth tho, buh wrong at the same time. how can u move the capital of a country from lagos to abuja and expec that only about a million ppl will live in it...that is reverse thinking.
moreso, you moved almost all the head quaters of all gvt parastatals to abuja, coupled with so many companies who also moved their head qtrs to abuja..just how do you expect that only the workers would relocate without their families shocked. Also with other pple seeking for opportunities in a new place, and then u expect the population to be 1 million. the planners got it wrong frm the start hence the shortage or very high price of houses which i think is abuja's biggest problem. once again...reverse thinking.

We can now see that dis way of myopic reasonin/plannin didnt start today. Imagine a federal capital of a country (the most populous black nation in the whole world) wit abut or over a hundrend milion population then, was designed to house only one milion persons, fogetin dat only 10 hausa people can giv birth to one milion people in 5 years time. But thank god fo pple like senato bala mohammed. 'Gud thinkin, gud product' a chinese proverb. I pray no be grammar sha.

Haba Mr. minister, how can a sane man wake up and draft a master plan that will accommodate only the upper class.Who will be responsible for maintenance of the city or would the upper class rich men do the work of cleanners, security men, gardeners, toilet draining, taxi drivers,mechanics,technicians,plumbers,e.t.c,maybe those common man who handles such ordinary but important jobs will shuttle between Lagos and Abuja.
These ministers with their poor sense of reasoning sef, haba na wen dem go stop to dey make silly utterances for public.

The Minister is completely wrong. Abuja was a well designed, modern city to accommodate all the needs of a wide spectrum of the populace.

What has happened over time is that infrastructure implementation and housing has been corrtptly hijacked by successive government backed speculators and bandits.

If you look at allocation rates and base prices of land it remains affordable but the average man can never get it. Even worse, year on year infrastructural expenditure is skewed in such a way to funding grandoise projects as against the provision of basic infrastructure. Where did they find the money to expand airport road while they couldn't complete the rail line started before it. They have money for Maitama and Asokoro extensions yet none to complete the Jabi - Lifecamp link bridge.

It is not the masterplan jor. It is the hijacking of the plan by the elite. On a good day you can place a matress on Jabi Lake front road and take a nap. How many houses on that road are occupied. Just wasting away while people live like animals outside town.

As at when abuja was designed, even Bala Mohammed was a common man then. So tomorow, some of us they look as common people today will equally look towards ABJ. So they shld do sometin and stop the excuse

Spot on! I also second a mayor(elected and responsible to d ppl) for abuja as was originally planned, we neva do anytin rite in dis country! All dis ministers sef dat are hiding behind d so called almighty 'master plan' and causing havoc by demolishing peoples homes God dey! D person who made dat plan should be shot! All plans are subject to review based on realities on ground, bt dis abuja master plan is too rigid.

Abeg make you help me ask them. if you are on a job with a national salary scale, and yet your mates in other states are paying 30% of what the house rent is in Abuja, what is the rationale for continuing to stay there?

Nice one,cos if all the Cobblers, Nannies, Cab men, Tailors, Gardeners, Postmen, 'Buka-teria',Drivers,Cooks,Saloons etc leave Abuja, it will be fun to see Okonjo Iweala, Ribadu and co doing errands themselves and perhaps, patience will be selling fish in her new market

causing the mind to panic and making people to say things that aren't just right.

Even the Nigeria government also promotes inequality; if not, Abuja as the capital should be design to accommodate all. This country is so sick, bad rulers @ d peak !
