A friend of mine who's a java specialist once thought 'well....I don't think nairaland should have be where it is today' and man I have given it some serious thought ever since.

Below are my suggestions of how nairaland may be improved.

1. Creation of a chat rooms

This won't be privileged to everyone except for those who have contributed immensely to NL in terms of number of serious topics posted with thes highest number of pages generated, or based on some other criteria to be decided by Seun and the mods in order manage server time allocation)

2. A download portal
Here registered members can upload or download .pdf, .apps, limit size restriction of 5mb or whatever.

3. Creation of Atheist and Pagan sub-forums
An atheist room is direly needed so that fellow atheists can get to share and compare their views and opinion without needing to post under the Religious section, I think it will be suitable under the Education section without needing to create topics under the religious forum, this may resolve the perpetual clash between Nairaland atheists and religionists who usually feel offended by atheistic posts in their religious section and ofcourse the creation of a Pagan room placed either under the religion or culture section moderated by either Pagan9JA. I will recommend MacDaddy01 aka logicboy to moderate the atheist section.

4. Research section in the science and tech
Here, members working on personal research or school project/thesis can get to compare and rub minds on any work/experiment in progress.

5. User Computer/Phone profile
This is just for aesthetic purpose, just to enhance the look and appeal of Nairaland. I'm sure Seun would understand what I mean by this. A brief specs of a user computer/phone detail would be displayed either on top or below the signature line. Something like:

This is just my 2 cents, don't attack mine as you are free to contribute your suggestions.

The atheist/pagan section might be a good idea but I think we must discuss this among the atheists/unbelievers because Seun will more likely be moved if we agree on this in unison

i quite agree with all your points but i disagree with creating a separate sub-forum for atheists/pagan/non-religious.

Having a separate sub-forum is similar to building a separate sub-stadium for only Chelsea to play with own members. chelsea enjoys the victory of thrashing other clubs similar to we enjoying debunking and exposing the falsity and foolishness of prevalent religions. having a separate column will diminish this fun of thrashing and bashing and debunking those deluded and dangerous religious ideas, in my opinion.

Also, i support removing absolute power from a single moderator. Freedon of speech is a hallmark of democracy. This is Nigeria and not Iran. Maclatunji is exercising his power way too excessively. And i support his removal as a moderator.

BTW, im a Chelsea fan. up blues.
