Dear Dr Katy, hope all is well with you! Its been a while since i posted, remember me, you gave me alot of input in regards to my rather complicated pregnancy, MCDA twins, infection fear, cervical stitch, it was a rough ride, spent 10 weeks in hospital on strict bedrest but God saw me thru, i had 2 beautiful boys at 35weeks but they didnt need any special care and we were discharged as normal. Thanks a mil for your help! May God continue to strengthen you and reward your efforts. 2 Likes |

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 4:32am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@chibobina I would recommend vit b6 25 mg twice a day. Her ob might also recommend some antiemetics. Good luck @tobenia I generally recommend prenatal vitamins at least 3 months before conception. Make sure to include omega fatty acids as well |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 4:34am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@meridian Was an ovulation induction performed? How many IUIs have you had? @ biggaboy Sounds like a yeast infection which can be easily treated by her gyn. As for contraceptive pills, there are several. Your wife might also like to consider an IUD |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 4:36am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@tessybaby Proteus can cause a urinary tract infection but shouldn't affect fertility @ peyton Some semen will leak out. This is normal and shouldn't affect your ability to get pregnant @shezy This is not an urgent care center. Please do not crowd this thread with posts reminding me to reply within hours of the initial post |

@mamaaa Are you having your periods? Does the milk come out when you squeeze on the nipple or all the time? @obidia What kind of odor? Is it fishy? |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:03am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@dewoy why did you need a creatinine clearance test? @adebolanle It takes a while after the injection to start ovulating be patient. This being said, since you are over 35, I would suggest seeing a specialist if you do not get your period after six months and you still desire pregnancy @ mypeace That was very nice of you to share your experience. Thank you |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:05am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@nne_mak I totally agree with empadac and Dr. balogun. A specialist might help you. @ anamelechi There is a procedure that can be done to "unblock" the tubes. Your gyn should direct you. Good luck |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:06am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@madam L You might be in perimenopause. The periods can get heavier or lighter but you need a gyn exam to rule out other serious conditions @madambini Are you well lubricated at time of penetration? |

@ lifegal Are you breastfeeding? This can decrease estrogen levels and affect the lubrication of the vagina @ nowal If you are concerned, you can have a semen analysis. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:10am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@meta 4 congrats. i agree with everything that has been said. A corpus luteum cyst is nothing to worry about. It occurs in all pregnancies @ankeade I recommend a pregnancy test |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:12am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@bamboke birth control pills can not be used to abort @ obidia You will feel a tightening which gets stronger and stronger. You may also lose your mucus plug. As for the breasts, breast discomfort is not unusual during pregnancy. Keep me posted |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:14am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@ midola It is normal. Don't worry @lady jay It takes at least one year before we worry about infertility. If you are not ovulating, there are medications that we can use. Make sure to take your prenatal pills. Good luck |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:15am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@edjuzion Are you breastfeeding? @davinchi Those symptoms are normal. Fansidar is safe |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:17am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@emeje One can't tell the viability of sperm just by looking at the semen. If you are concerned, talk to him about a semen analysis @moduperola Was your progesterone level checked? If no, ask for a progesterone level. Please let me know. |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:18am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@ammamat I would suggest you get a urine test to ensure that you don't have an infection @toxy Don't worry. It is normal |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:19am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@taitee You should get the lump checked. You might need a biospy @ oluwawunmi Sorry to here that. What did your gyn tell you after the surgery? |
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 5:22am On Nov 15, 2009 |
@ogesteph The cervix is where the baby comes from and if it is overly manipulated, it can stop functioning properly. The reason he wanted you to get married and have a child is because fibroids can return. I would suggest going on birth control. This is to reduce the amount of estrogen your ovaries produce. Fibroids like estrogen. Hope this helped |

welcome back dr kathy. I'll like to know if there's a particular rate and time the fetus should move as in can there be too much fetal movement? my first baby mostly moved in the night but this one now, moves all day as in morning and night! I discussed with my doc and he just laughed saying the baby is just active, no problems. I'll like to know what your opinion is, thanks. |
