Dr, please am confused here about my girlfriend. She had her period between Oct. 16 and 18 and we had intimacy on Oct.28. Her circle should be 28days. She informed me on December 15 that she went for a scan and they told her that she is two months pregnant! I seems not to understand how the counting is done and the correlation of those dates. Please help me out

Hi, I'm five months and 2days pregnant and have been having this bad backpain for some days now, I'm really worried, pls what do I do?
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by mightlove(f): 10:05am On Dec 19, 2012
@upengineer:i am not a dr but just want to help out. That she is 8 weeks (2 months pregnant) is absolutely correct. Gestation age of pregnancy is usually calculated from the 1st day of a woman's LMP(last menstrual period). The gestation age pf pregnancy is usually 2 weeks ahead of the concpetion date. You can search online for due date calculator and you will confirm what i have just explained. So worrry not, everything is in order. From the calculator i used, she turned 8 weeks on the 11th of december, which means she is 9 weeks +1 today. Hope this helps

Dear Doctor kathyekiti,

Thank you for all your hardwork here!
My husband an i want a baby desperately. We got married in December 2011 but He lives outside Nigeria and i travel often to see him. I have travelled twice to see him for 1 month periods each. My cycles are 28 days long with 5 days of painful menstruation. I went to scan myself at the hospital last month to find out if i had any problems. The ultrasound findings were as follows:
Uterus: Bulky in size and anterverted. Cavity is empty, normal endometrial thickness. THERE ARE 4 FIBROID NODULES. THERE ARE THREE IN THE ANTERIO-FUNDAL REGION MEASURING 4.60CM X 3.48CM, 1.83CM X 2.05 CM AND 1.74CM X 1.67CM. THE FOURTH IS SUBMUCOUS AND IS LOCATED AT THE MIDUTERINE ASPECT OF THE POSTERIOR MYOMETRIUM AND MEASURED 4.83CM X 4.79CM.

Therefore, i have been diagnosed with multiple fibroid. Could you tell me whether these sizes are bulky and whether i need to go for an operation to remove them? Also, i met a doctor last Saturday and informed him i was travelling again to see my husband this weekend. He prescribed Clomid for me 50mg day and night for 5 days starting on the 2nd day of my menstrual period. My menstrual period started today. Kindly let me know if this is okay.

Hi sticku4life
Am not a doctor but I just want to quickly mention that taking fertility medications usually increases the size of fibriod. Did u tell the doctor that prescribed clomid for you about the US result?

Dr kathyekiti....so glad u are back. We rily missed u on dis thread. Welcome back. My question is, I went for an HSG in october and d result said: cervical canal is elongated. The uterine cavity is deformed. The fallopian tubes are crowded with loculated contrast spill bilaterally.

Result: Bilateral peritubal adhesions. My husband also did a SA and his count was about 4million. I want to ask...can I still conceive even with this tubal adhesion when we treat hubby and his count improves?. Been trying to conceive for about 2yrs now. Had a fibroid surgery prior before marriage. Thanks

Happy new year Dr. Kathy. Pls, I need your help. A friend of mine told me she went intimate with her boyfriend during ovulation period which was 16th dec, 2012. She told me that after some days, she began to feel very tired, experience backache, headaches, severe temperature. She's expecting her period on the 5th of Jan 2013. She hasn't gone for a test yet. She's very scared cos she's not ready to keep the pregnancy if actually it is.
Please, do u really think she's conceive and if yes, how old is the pregnancy? And one more thing,I'll really beg u on this, could u kindly recommend an abortion pill she could use?For safer purpose, you can e-mail me the name of the pill at supplanter25000@gmail.com
I should be very grateful for your response. Thank you Dr.

Dr doctor,

i must commend this is a great help you are doing for us all this threads has you put in more light on many dark issues, God bless you more. To my story, am 35yrs, i keeping have irregular circle since past 7yrs now. at some months, its 28days circle, others at 35, 39, 24 and the longest 45days circle. done hormonal analysis test, resulted the FSH and Prolactin levels are normal, LH level is elevated but very low oestradiol and progestrone with FSH/LH ratio is 1.5(POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME ANOVULATION).

I also did HSG, resulted as normal HSG, PATENT FALLOPIAN TUBES, UTERUS IS PRESERVED, SMOOTH, BOTH FALLOPIAN TUBES WERE DELINEATED FULLY WITH FREE PERITONEAL SPILL. The doctor gave series of medications then in which the period began normally but i could not get pregnant yet, but on stopping the medications, the irregularity started again. now for the past 6 months i have been on primolut N and 30 microgram to keep the period coming in which the doctor said chances of getting pregnant is slim with continuos use of the drugs.

My questions: what can i do to regulate my monthly circle without continous use of medications every month, and how best can you advise of how to get pregnant with this conditions as am 5 years married and getting worried on issue of babies.

Regards
