^Umuaka is also a gem among many Jman24: only the people who visit home by map rather than with their two feet will tell you anything about anywhere in igboland being 'small' or 'landlocked' etc. There's no town who's mass isn't majority open land or forest in the east. There's more than plenty of land 2 Likes |

anselem87:Guy, did you read and understood what you read before responding? Did you not read where I wrote that because the tertiary education institutions are all in Owerri area, attending to the institutions from home which is cheap made people of Owerri senatorial district attend en mass to the institutions? But how on earth could a human being say that tertiary education institutions are not agents of development in area located because they breed cults and criminality? Tufiakwa!! What made Owerri become near century of modern development ahead of rest of the state if not the public tertiary education institutions littered all over Owerri at the exclusion of rest of Imo state? Let me ignore your poor use of English language. Next time, please read but don’t reply my post. |

Abagworo: Please try not to argue with nonentities over which state is better in Igbo land. They're being childish and jealous of the pictures being posted about Imo state. They can open their own thread and promote their states, but they're pissed at our state pictures. Please I will like you and Sanctity and others to keep posting pictures of Imo developments cos we in the diaspora are enjoying your posts. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Waltersmith to build industrial park in Imo July 23, 2021 By Chinonso Alozie, Owerri The Waltersmith Petroleum and refinery Company, has started the process to build an industrial park in the oil community of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo state. The Chief Executive Officer of Waltersmith Refinery and Petrochemical Company, Mr Chikezie Nwosu, revealed this in Owerri, at the closing ceremony of Waltersmith Technical Skills Acquisition Programme, 2021 for 47 graduates of Ohaji/Egbema in Imo. He said the industrial park when completed will attract world-class companies as well boost economic activities in the state. According to Nwosu, “Waltersmith Petroleum and refinery Company, one of the Indigenous oil firms first to build a modular refinery in Nigeria, is to build an industrial park in Ohaji/Egbema, its host community. The project is being undertaken with support from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). “The industrial park is being developed with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa as part of Nigeria’s country program with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. “The park to be built in Ohaji/Egbema will be world-class with all the infrastructure that would attract world-class companies, the park will also double as a dry dock and free trade zone. It is not just an industrial park, but an industrial park with a difference, with this development Ohaji/Egbema will continue to grow with all the adjoining communities also benefiting from the expected boom.” Earlier in his remark, the Imo state government Coordinator on Oil and Gas, Goodluck Opiah, said: “I must state that your organization today records a highly commendable and audacious achievement that will occupy a conspicuous space in the cooperate history book of your organization for a long time by recording yet another first after being the first to establish a modular refinery in Nigeria. I am indeed very happy to be associated with this event.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/07/waltersmith-to-build-industrial-park-in-imo/ 1 Like |

Juliusmalema2:So you see me as an old man? Old men are known for wisdom. A young person who abuses old man is not healthy. As an old man, I must continue to remind people like you that continued actions of Imo governors in diverting more population of Imo state into Owerri is a SIN. By the time the ugly consequences of the actions of uninformed politicians who concentrate development infrastructures in Owerri start to manifest, it may have become too late for remedial actions. 1 Like |

What if we establish a website where we can gather funds for major infrastructural projects in the state. The site will have names of the donors, and if you make a donation without seeing your name, then you have to raise an alarm on the site. The project to be executed will be by vote. The contract bidding will be on the site and the selection of the contractor will also be by vote. I believe we can develope our state without waiting for the government. Other ideas can be inculcated into this, to make the whole idea water tight. 8 Likes |

If I'm right, this was how the cargo airport was built. Another motivation will be that there will be a wall in front of every project with the names of everyone who donated a Kobo to the project. After even a million years your desendants will also see the effort of there ancestor as being part of the reason the project is there. |

sanctity454: What you guys need is to come together and elect about 5 (or more) representatives. These representatives will open a joint bank account in any Nigerian bank (Fidelity Bank most especially since it is considered an Igbo bank of some sort). The account will have the signatories of those 5 or more representatives and money cannot be withdrawn from the account or else half or all the signatories approve the withdrawal. That way, no one can singlehandedly steal the money deposited in the account as multiple signatures will be needed before money can be withdrawn. |

Also, note that before anybody joins this union you guys are planning, every member must submit his or her BVN and a valid means of ID or NIN number for easy identification in case of any illegal play, the BVN and NIN of the suspect can be handed over to the police for investigation. |

bluepanther: So long as all the projects are to be done outside the state capital. The state capital of Imo state is the most over-pampered state capital in Nigeria, if not in the world - at the detriment of other places in Imo state. Example: seeing these red sand roads in Mbano here and seeing the well-paved roads of Imo state capital, show that Imo govts abuse locations outside the state capital. 1 Like |
