I got it right because I said million not billion. The Federal Ministry of Trasport budgeted N235m while Imo State Government budget N40 billion for Oguta port.

Federal Ministry of Transport project there is only Oguta River port, more like the one in Baro and Onitsha.

Imo state government own is dredging from inland Oguta lake to 90 nautical miles to the Atlantic ocean and building of a wharf.

It's different from the federal government River port projects, but in the same vicinity, imo state government government wharf infrastructures is tailored towards crude lifting, while FG river port is more of non oil and gas lifting and importation.

On a scale of 1-10 how massive will this Oguta project be? And how beneficial will it be to Imo state?

Super lucrative 10/10, it will make Oguta heavily economically viable than it's contemporaries and would spoil the calm, neat serene atmosphere of Oguta town, but will improve it's impressive infrastructure.

Apart from Bonny, I don't think there's any other oil and gas town with better infrastructures than Oguta shaa

Pls draw the attention of the government to this, this is serious... A gully erosion is coming up there and a lot of houses will be affected

Interesting! These are very good projects. I hope this won't make Oguta lake less viable for tourism.

Envious bitter frustrated imo man, yes over 80% of innoson motor parts are sources locally in Anambra and thousandsof Anambra people are employed. Take a hike if you can't come to that realisation.

If it is just importation, why hasn't anyone from your useless backward worthless shithole imo state started importing it to imo state to assemeble. Innozon is building even a big production plant at another location in Anambra. Bunch of wicked envious frustrated people

Despacito1:

Innocent is doing great, but he should not be using Nnewi brain on us because there is no manufacturing Automated plant in Nnewi. Why is he clamming that 80 percent of the components are sourced and made In Nnewi. We all knows he goes to China, buy this vehicles in parts, comes to Nnewi to Assemble them with his IVM logo. But that's an impressive one hence it's employing our youths, bringing industrial activities to the state. It's high time he brings those Chinese milling and Lathe machines to start doing proper production than taking our money to import Chinese cars for us in igboland.

Owerri has really gone from bad to pigsty. Abakaliki of yesterday has surpased Owerri in infrastructure and development. Owerri lacks urban planning, almost non existence of sanitation nor road sweeping. The comparison is quite impressive because with all the education imo state is yet to have a befitting state capital. Owerri has remained largely a glorified rural area full of slums. Onitsha, Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki, Asaba are the best cities in igboland.

Even Aba appears to be looking better than Owerri. Imo indigenes invest everywhere but their state. Imo needs a governor like Obiano or Soludo to bring ndi into investing and developing their state.

Despacito1:

Owerri gone so bad, I know Abakaliki has taken over in development, but Awka need to sit up. the comparison is also an eye opener. Akuluno yet quarter of their investments are sited outside their state and igboland. Igbos should wake up!!

I am trying to respond to the Abakaliki video. I completed NYSC there prior to yr 2000, and this video is quite impressive. Kudos to those leaders who spend the commonwealth to benefit the people and God bless them, Ameen.

In 1976, Owerri became state capital.

In 1996, Ebony and Abia states were carved out from old Imo and Anambra states.
Since 1996, more than 90% of money in Imo state has been circulating in Owerri.
Owerri has consumed nearly all development funds of Imo state due to two historical factors: 1) politicians of Owerri forced every govt institution that can induce devt to be in Owerri.
2} two last governors of Imo state from Orlu zone have had beefs against some people in Orlu local government area. No govt development shifted out of Owerri since 2011. Orlu and Okigwe were of similar level in urban development with Owerri in 1976. Orlu and Okigwe were relegated to villages in the new Imo state.
Owerri must start to pay Orlu and Okigwe what it owes the two old cities of Imo state for modern development. Imo state was never created for one city alone.
Newer state capitals like Awka, Abakaliki or Asaba are not overtaking Owerri for nothing. Karma works.

Afor otito (bulging stomach) disease results after one person consumes the food meant for 3 persons.
That's the case in Imo state where federal allocations meant for development of 3 senatorial districts have consistently been fed to development of one senatorial district by successive inept governors.

Imo State doesn't have a good governor. Hope Uzodinma cannot give what he doesn't have. He's not a good person. He's that the more you look the less you see character.

This Is Orange drugs in Onitsha own by an Imo indigene. While Anambra people build ordinary children play ground in imo, instead imo indigenes sink billions of naira in industrialisation in Onitsha. Ko wonder imo state is useless worthless and backward with high unemployment, etc, because there are no industrial complexes to employ graduates, that's why most imo indigenes troop to Anambra for greener pasture.

It is quite unfortunate that Owerri has continued to be a glorified village and now Abakaliki is looking like Paris compare to Owerri.

Owerri is a slum without urban planning, almost non existence of motorable roads, okada is now one of the major means of transportation in Owerri due to dilapidated roads in the town.

My main reason of replying the guy was because he wanted to feel good that an Anambra man invested in the backward imo state, but I decided to bust his bubble and show him that most imo indigenes sink billions in Anambra.

Now on why most imo indigenes prefer to invest in Anambra than imo, it is no secret that imo is a poor state with low economic worth. So any good investor whether from imo or else wouldn't wanna waste resources investing in a poor worthless economy like that of imo state.

Most investors at head bridge pharmaceuticals zone are mostly imo indigenes that came to Onitsha for greener pasture to invest and make good profits, something their home state cannot offer them.

Now imo state must start to build and develop the state because this capital flights of imo indigenes trooping to Anambra shall continue until imo state can get it right with leadership.

Despacito1:

Imo indigene came to develop your state economy, employed your people and bring the money home. Look at ordinary roller coaster Janglover built by an Anambra man in Owerri we won't hear world. Orange drug's built a multi billion plant, all the houses built in fegge Onitsha and 33 owned by imo indigens because of Ogbogu at bridgehead pharmaceutical businesses. All controlled by Orlu imo people. This is an evidence of who controls the economic power house of the East. Imo man came to your land, create investment, employment for you. put food on your table and growing your crippling economy. All you could do is to badmouth them.

What will you tell millions of anambra people hustling, building and investing heavily in Lagos like P-square that has no good house in his home town but bought mansion's in Lekki, does it mean Anambra state is poor with no economic values right, thereby chasing Anambra people out of their states to Lagos to occupy Yoruba man spaces. Even when they're being killed and threàtened to chase them back to Onitsha they still insist they will not leave Lagos to dry Anambra state?

Millions of imo indigenes ran to live in Anambra because Owerri is a cursed backward useless worthless shithole state. Imo is a failed state that's why most imo indigenes preferred to sink billions in Anambra, leaving their cursed dry worthless imo state abandoned. Economy of Nnewi alone is bigger than the economy of the entire imo state. Imo hasn't gotten any FDI for almost 8yrs whereas Anambra has been getting billions of dollars in investments.
