The Nigerian
House of Representatives on Tuesday
called for the setting up of a committee to
investigate the remote and immediate
causes of the killing of the students of the
Federal polytechnic Mubi, in northeast Adamawa State. More than 25 students of the polytechnic
were killed by gunmen suspected to be Boko
Haram sect on Oct. 2. The lower chamber also mandated the
Committee on Police Affairs to invite the
Inspector-General of Police to update it on
the security situation in the country. The
House said efforts should be made to check
the re-occurrence of such ugly incident.
