Wema Bank Is In Trouble: Gmd to be Sacked ! by SweetT1: 3:56am On Jan 23, 2008
I heard that Wema bank board of directors will soon be dissolved, investigations revealed that the bank is headed for the rocks and employee will soon start losing their jobs. There is a strong feeling that wema bank is not the only bank going through this problems, there are so many Nigerian banks that are cooking their books. I hope some of you that has account with wema will be wise enough to start withdrawing their money. I'm not surprise at wema's problems at all. Any organizations headed by the Ekitis always end up like this, look at Ekiti state on its own. If you are wise enough and want to keep your hard earned money, steer clear of wema and intercontinental banks. They are bunch of fakes.

this is the problem with Nigerians,do you have to attack a particular tribe or state because someone in the headship hasn't done well.I seriously suggest you apologise to all ekiti indigene for assassination of character and maliciously concluding that Ekiti's have poor leadership culture.

Next time are on the dance floor, it is pretty good to leave when the ovation is loudest!

its obvious Sweet T has a personal grudge, this forum is not the best place to sort it out. your conclusions are even based on half truth and falsehood.

Is Akingbola of Intercontinental an Ekiti Man?

All CBN is doing is a routine check based on petitions received, only the result will tell if the Board of Wema bank will be sacked or not. This does not automatically translate to lose of Job in The Bank.

NOTE: Corruption and Management Failure has no tribe, dont be bias in ur judgement

@SOJ

It's obvious you are one of them, why don't you go ask an average wema employees how the ekitis are using their connections to cheat other staffers of their positions. Or ask them about the atrocities committed by that armed robber called Fayose at wema.

Hi All,
The issue of Wema Bank is not something you guys can be dragging up and down. Wema Bank is still one of the banks doing fine in terms of their staff welfarism. Come to think of it, Wema Bank just issued some set of graduates employment letters yesterday with a salary package of 1.56m per/annum without any form of TARGET whatsoever, is the bank not trying? Truly, the bank hasn't done any AGM since 2005 but go to the stock exchange table and see the improvement on their share. If you are offered an employment oppourtunity (for job seekers on niraland and entire job searchers) in wema bank today won't you honour it? well if your answer is no, i know thousands of Nigerians that theirs will be yes.

Then to those who feel that the employees will start getting sack letters because of the crisis the bank is passing through, i want to tell you emphatically that is not true and it won't be. If you worked in the bank for more than 25yrs or your age is 55yrs then you can be asked to retire otherwise you stay provided you do not perpetrate any fraud.

Wema Bank's GMD that was asked to go on compulsory leave is the right step in the right direction at least to allow NDIC to check his portfolio during his tenure in the bank. He needs to go if the speaker of the house needs to leave office for proper investigation of the scandal that struck the house then he's should not be an exception.
This is not an issue of either he's from Ekiti or not and mind you it's still going to affect some others too whose names are yet to be released.

Let's pray for the bank, not for anything but for the interest of the country cos if it distresses now we have Nigerian own organizations minus one. And you cant say, if you won't want to work there, your relatives who are by chances not priviledged like you are would!

Think about this!!!

when sending posts please try to be factual.you are a bit far from the truth.
the present problem has more to do with some members of the bank's managment approving fraudulent internal loans for themselves.
as for the health of the bank; information from relevant sources reveals that the bank is doing well and very healthy.

i see no reason why you have to demarket WEMA without having genuine information.

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION FROM?
