I think the essence of naming a child should primarily be for identification.
Why are people named more than a name? Is one name not enough?
I personally have about eight names. I ask myself atimes, what for?
Is it peculiar to some particular tribes in Nigeria?
Is it peculiar to some particular gender?
In my opinion, i think a name is enough for a child (let‘s not waste names).
How many names were you given at birth?

If you count my first name as two names, then 5 names lol. I have been laughed at countless time for having so many names. But 8 is a lot! Nothing to be ashamed of though, names are always good.

Three names though i trashed one long ago and only use two now..
I think the essence of more than one name is still identification though as you its possible that you share your first name and surname with someone else but improbable that you'd share first name, middle name and surname with anyone.
