In certain cases, the word umu is used to make a noun plural.

For example:

My child - nwa m
My children - umu m

My man - nwoke m
My men - umu nwoke m

My sibling - nwa nne m
My siblings - umu nne m

If "onwero ife/ihe na eme" means nothing is happening/going on, then I deduce that "ife/ihe na eme" means something's (it's) happening/going on lol.

J12: What does Ikenga mean?

I'm not sure of the exact meaning but I know it has to do with strength. Maybe Afam or Odumchi can chip in...

J12: What does Ikenga mean?

How was it used in a sentence? Could you provide an example? The reason I'm asking is because the word Ikenga has different meanings. It can mean right hand (aka Ikenga), in addition to being the name of the spirit of ability and prowess.

J12: What does Ikenga mean?

The strength is "Ike" strength, "Nga"(a place like prison) if I'm correct

Ikenga is a prison like place of strength, although I may be wrong about the myth but it does signify like a staff of office or perhaps a deity.

Again, this is my own definition grin grin grin

Ah, I see eze Odumchi has answered the question, abeg ignore my own translation..

I was right? That's the effect of too much Nollywood movies grin grin grin

Having watched a good number of Nigerian movies as to what, I've kinda learned a few things but doesn't compare to having a nice conversation with my grey old grandparents at home.

Hmm, "Aku" is wealth, Aku'm (my wealth), although I will say depending on the context, sometimes it could mean your wealth and sometimes to someone dear to you, which is more often applicable to women, perhaps your female spouse or daughter or otherwise.

Light Bulb IMO is oku m'gbanie enu... I may be wrong, oya Odumchi, help us out..

It's not only them. Parts of Abia and Ebonyi also say okpa instead of ukwu. Ukwu is mostly said in Anambra, Delta, Imo, and Rivers, whereas okpa is said mostly in Ebonyi, Abia, and parts of Enugu.

As many have already said, bulb, as in lightbulb, is called oku in Central Igbo.

Bulb means 'ugogbe oku'

Reason:
Ugogbe means glass and anything that has glass in it is regarded as ugogbe
e.g eyeglass - ugogbe anya
mirror - ugogbe onyo or ugogbe etc

Thought mirror was Ugebe. Wrong spelling possibly.
