OP, I think Nigeria and a number of similar countries will not be major theatres and will be bypassed in the nuclear exchange. The victor will need resources to rebuild and will most likely leave out the oil and agricultural basins. Internal strife will ravage the countries though... My two cents.

Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa and is one of the most populous in the world, rich in natural resources. This facts makes it irrational to think Nigeria would not be dragged into WW3 if and when it strikes, it would not be the case of sitting on the fence or hiding under a non-aligned movement.

There have been several issues which could be tagged as remote causes which leaves WW3 impending - all it needs is an immediate trigger to set things in motion. WW3 had already begun US/Israel VS Iran/Arab world? China VS Japan over island dispute? The bid to reshuffle world's balance of power and US' urge to want to retain the power addiction? So many factors have set the stage already... Wake up!
