The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja this morning upheld the judgment of the Kogi State election petition tribunal which had earlier on nullified the election of Abubakar Idris as the governor of the state.

The Court also blasted INEC for usurping the powers of the court when it unlawfully excluded Prince Abubakar Audu from contesting the election.

The former governor was directed to hand over to the Speaker of the State's House of Assembly preparatory to the conduct of fresh election.

funny enough this same speaker that was sworn in today also had his own election annulled by the same tribunal and he is awaiting his judgement next week from the court of appeal. who then becomes the governor after.
