The first daughter of former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari died yesterday in Kaduna, two days after giving birth to a baby girl through a caesarean section at a private hospital.
Zulaihatu Buhari, named after the General’s late mother and famously called Magajiya, was born December 5, 1972 and had battle with sickle cell anaemia.

She left behind her husband retired military Captain Mahmud Junaid and three kids (two girls and one boy), including her new baby. Until her death she was a staff of National Steel Raw Material Exploration Agency.

Her funeral prayers will hold today in Kaduna, according to family sources.

But there are two things i observed in this news : the lady graduated from A.B.U Zaria ( an indigenous university), delivered and died in an indigenous hospital all with the knowledge of her father. If such people are to rule the country, they will certainly put these amenities in place since they also depend on it. May God open the eyes of the blinds.

May Allah forgiver her sins and grant her paradise.

Are you sure it's not complications from child birth rather than sickle cell. Why I ask, is because she already had two children before this last one.

It pains to see this lovely lady die young and I commensurate with her mother, siblings, husband and other innocent loved ones. It still beats my imagination that she was rumoured to have died from childbirth in this jet age. Our health care system maybe bad but maternal mortality is nosediving not to talk of for a high profile personality. Irrespective of the associated risk she might have, a good obstetrics care and specialists handling of that delivery could have averted what ever. Well, it's too late to cry and may allah grant her soul rest... She looks very calm and gentle.

Death knws no respect. May she be granted eternal rest n may her families n loved ones be granted d fortitude 2 bear d sad news.

She died after giving birth to her 3rd child. She had sickle cell anemia and couldn't survive the blood loss after the 3rd child. I would have thought that being a sickler she should have stopped after having 2 babies. The gamble of having more children proved fatal. May her soul rest in peace. Condolences to her husband and family.
