This is an eye opener, though it is everywhere. Security is always a challenge during festivities. Good to come up with a reminder. if you have ears make use of them. You have to be security conscious not boko alone |

ITbomb: GO WITH EXTRA PACKS OF CONDOMSNa wa ooo, u hear people talk about calabar nd d 1st thing some simple minded myopic folks will thing about is sex. (U almost think ppl have sex on d street over there, but yet d state has one of d lowest population). Its really sad that this kind of stereotype has bin allowed 2 flourish in dis day nd age. Other annoying comment u hear is - yoruba girls are dirty, or igbo girls like money. Who da hell comes up with all dis fallacious way of thinking anyway. 2 Likes |

This guy is trying to scare tourists away from Calabar. I was in Calabar 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and neither heard nor experienced none of those things. The poster is mischievous. 1 Like |

stine b: Ofçourse we all need to be security conscious and careful when in dark and lonely roads, also when in a Large gathering of people anywhere in the world. Dead right. I studied and graduated there. I am at the carnival every year, i am shipping out on Friday this week. Mumsie's got a house at Queen duke just beside Bogobiri. The only thing to say about those areas is that it is very near the park so area boys do their stuff. Besides Bogobiri is mostly occupied by Hausas and honestly those guys just mind their business. Yes Mary Slessor is a very long road (street) and could be lonely, but i have walked it alone severally straight to the University gate and nothing ever happened. THis guy is just trying to create an impression that he knows the town well and he is coming up with scary non-existent gists. The average Calabar man will not raise a hand on you for anything or any reason, i have never seen a more docile and friendly people. It is elementary logic that wherever there is a large crown, things are bound to happen, but on a scale of 10 (ranking from 1-10) crime or violence in Calabar metropolis will probably be 2. Guys, if you havent hit town yet, please feel free to come, there is no problem at all. 2 Likes |
