Hey people,

Is the name Chetanna a boy or girl's name?

I love the meaning and simplicity of the name. Would love to give it to my son.

Thanks.

Hey people,

I need your help once again.

I came across the name "Kaodinna" on the Internet, but I can't seem to find the meaning and if it's gender specific.

Thanks in advance for your help.

KAODINNA

I was saying Kaodinma because the interpretation of Kaodinna does not make any sense really, at least Kaodinma sort of makes sense. I've never seen such name before, including Kaodinma, maybe someone else here could help you out.

That agugòisi could be interpreted either denotationally or connotatively, , generally it could be taken to be intelligent quotient. Urum is a town in Awka North of Anambra State.

@bold...from my native understanding of Igbo, the closest meaning of Agugoesi I can think of is, 'no argument'/'case closed'. Now in some parts of Igboland, to argue is called 'ishi agugo' or 'isi agugo'. For example, onye a ji a like ishi agugo mgbe owula - this person likes to argue always. Some people would say, 'ido okwu' or 'ido uka' or 'arumaru uka' which all mean the same thing.

The negative of 'to argue'/'ishi agugo' in Igbo would be 'eshila agugo'/'esila agugo' (don't argue) or Agugoesi (there's no argument).

Uruum= Uru m maybe? Uru m means 'my profit' in English. That's the closest meaning I can think of.

This is quite deep. Igbo linguistics 535 (final year things lol).

It is actually, Chigbogu which literally means 'God resolve fight', i.e Chi gboo ogu. Now in some parts of Igboland, to separate fight is spoken as, 'igbo ogu'. Some places say, 'itisa ogu' or 'ikusa ogu'. All mean the same thing, 'to separate fight'.

However, the name is sometimes misspelt as Chibogu, which has no meaning in Igbo language.

Awele by Flavour... cry

Ije awele = favour, safe journey, luck etc
This song is 8 minutes long but I will interpret the first 4 to 5 minutes so that you can get a hang of what the song is about. The dialect of Igbo used in this song is Enuani Igbo well understood by the people of Anambra, Delta Igbo and some parts of Enugu.
