What is d technology behind mtn hynet(does it use 3g or wimax).I am still contemplating on what to use to power my cafe..i recently visited a friend of mine who has a cafe in a remote location.. he bought a 3g router and connected an external antenna (16dbi). The router ordinarily picks only edge but with the help of the antenna he was able 2 get 3 bars of g network..

I know mtn hynet offers unlimited download bt i heard they have specific coverage areas. i was wondering if an external antenna can be connected to it 2 boost signal

Hynet is wimax 802.16e powered. Its 4G technology not 3g.

so what is the conclusion..i should use an external wimax antenna or what do u guys tink

Regular external 16dbi antenna should work fine.

He is using bigpond router. but am after this mtn hynet outdoor modem, since it use wimax technology..and the location i am is not included in the coverage area officially.. can i use wimax antennas?

ok i am sorry but the reason i made that comment was becos i tried opening the site and it wasnt opening.. all d same what if the vicinity is not included in the coverage area... the reason why i am so much interested in mtn hynet is becos of the unlimited data capabilities..
