Dont you think that is what we need in Nigeria....We are all Animals that need iron hand to obey the laws. Democvracy is not working in Africa. We feel we can just break the law and get away with it. IRON HARD FISTED HAND is needed to rule Nigeria, when we adapt and begin to learn, then democracy can take its right cause. Until then we remain a LAWLESS NATION

Watch what you say. When the lawmakers themselves break the law, what do you expect from the citizens? If the roads were in perfect condition, there wouldn't be traffic congestion and there wouldn't be a need to form 3 to 4 lanes.
Re: Amaechi Seized Car Keys In Port-Hacourt Today by Werehkpe: 8:06pm On Dec 31, 2012
How wont he do anything when una no know una rights? Its not his duty to seize keys. Even FRSC does not have that right. All they can do is to impound cars not sieze cars!

If every1 in d hold up (I MEAN EVRY1) stands up to resist this act of dominance, intimidation and agberoISM, he (Amaechi) wont do it and he will b forced to do the right thing and send traffic wardens or build more access roads

Dats d biggest problem in 9ja. like Fela said " my pipo sef de fear too much........"

Alex Obellq: That served them right, how can you formed 2 extra lane on a one lane route? Thats madness, when can we maintain orderliness in this country? Are we never tired of short cut? That impetient led to corruption most time in Nigeria

Mumu! Na because dem no seize ur car key and btw, do you even have an idea of the nature of the road? Most of the victims are still in the police station as we speak and Amaechi must have gone tru the traffic with siren and protocols. He may probably be in bed now

debrief08: Serves you right. Are you meant to form multiple lanes?
Nigerians are horrible traffic offenders, they form multiple lanes get on side walks, abuse you for obeying traffic lights, Blosck intersections, block the path to the left or right in traffic even when they are going straight.
I don't blame Governors like Fashola and Ameachi who to deal with thugs become thugs to as it is the only language we understand. Like Fashola said if you won't obey traffic laws go back to your village.
The way we act sometimes makes me think animals are better. As long as they can't pass in traffic no one else must pass, They wickedly take a street and make it one way abusing you who has the right of way

Well said. Wish he would march them all to FRSC office and fine them heavily. Nigerians only understand force.
Most people commenting don't drive so won't understand. Don't blame them.
Re: Amaechi Seized Car Keys In Port-Hacourt Today by Nobody: 8:50pm On Dec 31, 2012
As much as many criticize Amaechi's tactics, unfortunately that's the only way to deal with the average Nigerian motorist. Driving against traffic, driving on footpaths, pavements, grass areas which are set aside as recreational areas, blowing stop signs and running red lights etc. Those guys got what they deserved.

And there's no need blaming the bad roads, bottle-necked roads etc. They drive the same way everywhere they go. In countries with decent roads, they still flout the rules. In the UK, persistent offenders can expect to not only have their automobile seized, but have them crushed as well. And it doesn't end there - their local council can still chase them for the destruction costs.

There's no easy way to deal with these guys - the democracy route is pretty much wasted on them. The iron fist works better, preferrably without the velvet glove. cool

Future leader: see let me gist u..one sure thing about our leaders is that when ever they feel guilty, or their conscience is against them, then they will only think of what to do in other to back up... Ok ask yourself where he was going. He stood along that road for almost 2-3 hours collecting people's car keys instead of him to think of how to better the city by repairing roads to make it convinient 4 road users instead he only sights those areas that rich men live and repair those pls lets youths of NIGERIA come out with full to protest against this type of behaviours..*thanks*

Wonder about how some people think. Has he not tried enough? He is one of three or four good governors in nigeria. He can't fix everything alone but he has more than tried. Haba. Were those drivers doing the right thing?
Re: Amaechi Seized Car Keys In Port-Hacourt Today by saint22: 9:05pm On Dec 31, 2012
Somebody said nigerians need iron hands.I think what we need is leadership by example.whem leaders do not obey the law, what do you expect.they are all crimimally minded & stupid leaders that dont deserve to be alive.they are killers.

There is nowhere in this world where traffic does not build up but one never gets to hear because traffic rules are obeyed to the letter.
Will the whole place be turned to roads?
Simple obedience does the magic.
Re: Amaechi Seized Car Keys In Port-Hacourt Today by Nobody: 9:14pm On Dec 31, 2012
But the man himself is breaking the law - behaving like a thuggish out of control lastma officer. Is seizing car keys the legal method of dealing with traffic offenders?

Seriously sometimes it can be very annoying when u are in traffic and get to the junction only to see that there's absolutely nothing causing the bottle neck... Traders will leave the market and set up stalls on the already blocked roads all drivers will drive in as many lanes as possible..... Reminds me of wat someone said about "Attitude Change".........#just saying
Re: Amaechi Seized Car Keys In Port-Hacourt Today by Nobody: 10:41pm On Dec 31, 2012
@Technocrasy, sorry about that but the traffic agent are not the one encouraging 3-4 lanes in trans-woji road, they are only trying to make it better after people like you have formed more than 1 lane. I think on this he(Ameachi) did well. i will encourage him to spread his' dragnet to YKC road, rumuodara junction, tank/rumukwurusi road etc.
In that trans-woji road before you get to the bridge going to slaughter, you will notice that even when the traffic is not much like say the lane is just about 50 meters, you will notice cars coming from ykc forming 2-3 lanes for just that small holdup that will be cleared if the traffic warden passed cars once. in so doing the patient people in the lane will now be stuck there for hours because of bad drivers.
AMEACHI ABEG RIDE ON. The poster is just trying to justify himself. why form more than one lane when the lane has not gotten to st Catherine hospital junction.
Renew your mind and your ways.

I think that is ok. Ameachi did well there. If Ù truely want to how dirty our lives in naija are, jst observe motorists in naija roads. Everybody seems to be in a hurry. Where are we hurryÍng to? Nobody knows. We are Àlways in a hurry in naija yet, naija has remained where it is for many yrs without development.

God bless you, We are Nigerians and we most times behave like animals, why would the vehicles form 4 lanes. I just hope he took the keys of the vehicles that were genuinely on the wrong. If we see a GEJ like siddon look president we complain he is incompetent, when we see action from a good governor like Amechi we call him a dictator.

Governance in Nigeria should be with the iron fist, in Lagos where I live, there is a popular road (awolowo road Ikoyi) as early as 5.30am when there is no traffic, many tie wearing elites who will sit in their homes and call Fashola draconian , will not as much as obey traffic lights and yet sit behind desks at 8am and claim to be human beings.

Good job Amechi , ahead ahead
