God bless the Senator for saying what needs to be said.

It's simple and straightforward, as long as the FG is in charge of the totality of oil reserves and its proceeds then, all nooks and crannies of the Federation must get their share in revenue allocation in a "Fair and sustainable sharing ratio".

The SS/N-delta are getting too much at the expense of others with little or nothing to account for it.

In fact, their Governors blow the large sums on private jets n mansions thereby leaving the SS/N-delta looking more like a wild jungle inhabited by 'Savages'.
If the govt has ηo interest in exploiting the oil up North or other vast resources in the region, then the oyel must flow without any ojoro to all & sundry.

Thank you smiley

Go and farm, you resourses is farming and you are here looking at someone property. you left groundnut because of oil...wawa irin ka

How about the citizens exploiting their resources and paying taxes? What is wrong with that, why should it be the govt business to do business for you?
I don't understand how we got to this stage in our lives where we become so lazy that the FG (not even the lgs ) now need to wipe our a$$es...

Baba-Ibrahim:
The problem some Nigerians have is that they have never travelled out so they keep seeing a single page in the book of life and some don't use their internet access to poen their mind and broaden their horizon.
USA has majority of it's oil fields in Alaska and very few in California and Texas and yet the over 50 states of this country benefit from it,I'v never heard the US senators talk of derivative formular. They pass bills that will be beneficial to the whole nation.
“Yes nobody planted or ever farmed crude oil",it's a natural resources endowed by God.Go and check mineral resources distribution map of any country, you realise, one resources or the other is bestowed on different region.
When power generation started in Nigeria, from Dams situated in Northern region, the north never clamour for rationing the megawatts of power generated using any derivative formular.
Recently, you own kinsman,Tam David-west revealed how much you'v received using tthis derivative formular(#11.7trillion)and yet there's nothing to show for it.Gov's of the southern region have always been the regular customers of EFCC,due to the large amount they receive with nothing to justify it.
It's time we think as a true Nigerian and address issues objectively for our own long term benefit. God bless Nigeria.

The fifty states pay taxes to run the FG in USA...what rubbish are you talking above...please stop pretending to be a dunce...because someone cannot naturally be this dull.
What is a resource? Oil under your feet, arable land for farming, grazing, gold, coal, people, rivers, the sea, etc....
If you accept my examples of resources, then do you ever wonder why the fG has decided to seize a particular resources from a set of people, share same across the country (oil) and let other groups of people exploit their resources, (arable farm land or population) and pay taxes?
Yes the ndelta govs have mismanaged the 13% as have the other govs mismanaged the 87%......but we are say that FG should not pay money to states...it is orally wrong and encourages laziness we are witnessing in nigeria today....the states should only receive monies from the taxes it's citizens pay...hence hey would be forced to create more conducive environment for its citezens to exploit its resources for an improved revenue base.
Stop being lazy

Afolabs101: With all the hundreds of billions the south south has received over the years (Federal Allocation, IGR, 13% Derrivation, NDDC, Ministry of Niger Delta, Amnesty Fund etc), they still can't fix the East West road or second Niger Bridge?

Give south south an extra 200% and see the kind of house Orubebe wil the build. Until you have accountable Govenance, keep arguing about how much the ND gets and see what you will benefit from it.

These people are fighting for their own pockets. The money is either going to The Fed account, or to the National Assembly or to Amnesty etc. Me a Northern Senator want the ND to get less so that there's more for his state Governor and the NASS. Me a South South senator want ND to get more as I have some influence over NDDC and Ministry of ND, more money for them means more chopping for me. Get it?

Don't you get it, the FG should stop sharing money to the states, y is this simple concept so difficult for people to grasp....waiting for monthly ol money is actually the root of our problems

The most important thing is that the northern governors and house of assembly will kill the bill. that is all.

Yet it is true, given that they are the arrow heads of the current parasitic system...I don't have to educate you on what happens when a parasite feeds of a host for a long time..

eriegua83: Militancy , boko haram; North and South; GOD go punish LORD LUGGARD. Make Nigeria break, make everybody get peace. NORTH DEVELOP WITH YOUR AGRICULTURE; SOUTH DEVELOP WITH YOUR OIL. We dey forbid to take visa enter ABUJA from PORTHARCORT.

grin I sure say dat guy no go sleep in peace! + all hin advisers! How can you force unity on people all in the name of british interests! I will never indulge myself in the hope of any unity. Where a ppls mindset has been programmed to be superior to others in the same nation, with a chronic religious backing, passed down from one generation to the other, then the others can only reset their mind. If they do, can they reset the mindset of the caliphate? Two or more goats can't drink in a pot at a time! We can only try.

These North are very lazy in term of nation building all they know is bring oil money to share and by 2015 when the oil stop to drop they result to eating yam with onion. They are crying more than the oil communities who are face with water pollution, land degrade and other hazardous activities coming from Nigeria feeding from them to well develop Lagos and Abuja.. They feed 36 states from time memorial..Am not from SS but their problem is peculiar outside the general problem of Nigeria as a nation.. The North and their neighbour will never wish Nigeria to break because oil that may end by 2015 if North continue to fight for president slot to return back after they firmly hold it for about 40 years. Let there be fraction to break Nigeria than to die for oil from SS..

Hardfact: Just too bored to put words together.
Recall clamours for True/Fiscal Federalism, Confederalism, appraisal of Basis for 'one Nigeria', Sovereign National Conference, . . .so many other mindboggling issues.
. . . Nigeria's got a long way to go. Havent we been sitting on a keg of gun powder all along?
. . . Pity the region that had to be so small to own the oil . . .and the South: SW, SE, & SS that only knows how to quarrel, and never agree . . .even on Nairaland, and will forever be their lackey . . .
Exactly my point, I still do not understand y men with great intelligence from the south keep allowing dis people from the north use dem against demselves. Imagine if the whole south decides to come together and ask for power, they will surly take power for generations. The enmity with the southern part of Nigeria its child's play, in business the south's d best, in education d south is d best, in innovation the south is d best, in creating jobs the south's d best so y when it comes to team work the south's the worst. What really caused this hatred
