mankevo: Mr President, You really have to move fast to unite this nation.
Be serious with governance, work less on excuses, committees, speeches, mistakes.....these earned you the highest bad reputation in 2012, and MUST stop with 2012

2013 should herald a wave of ''excellent reputation'' where our nation should be taken serious across our borders.
We Pray for you so that all the curses, abuses, insults and disrespects of 2012 will turn to Praises and cheers this 2013

Remember, Nigerians will not be suprised by your failures again, but will really be surprised & shocked by your agressive and dynamic performance.
May God help you discover your bad advisers/functionaries, and give you courage to wean them off to earn yourself the respect of your office.
God be with us All
very powerful comments. But brother, forget those insulting or abusing the president. Majority of them are just without cogent reasons. Some are because of failure arising from not working hard from their young age, some from political failure, failed family upbringing, being indesciple, ie bad company, ethnic sides etc.
Yes, the president should work harder, one should not place much emphasis on criticisms and outright abuses. Thanks, let us intensify prayer this year.

omowolewa: No matter how fast GEJ moves, the speed of corruption is directly proportional to the speed of his Administration (if not more).

Except if the so call speed is about value delivery. if its about budget implementation, just forget it.

Because immediately government pays 10% mobilisation fee on contracts, it has achieved 10% budget implementation while value delivery is 0%. Talkless of the fact that other 90% will be used on corruption, kick-backs/PR and other 'Nigerian factor things'. Leaving 45% of the budget for value delivery.

What is GEJ administration doing to empower EFCC, ICPC, NPF, and other anti graft agencies along side with the judiciary, against corruption

What is GEJ administration doing to ensure the money spend is equal to value realised

Oga GEJ,its better you kill corruption first before it kills your administration.

Corruption is not the be all and end all of everything. Nations can progress even with corruption. Russia is rated more corrupt than Nigeria by Transparency International, yet she has more or less a first world economy and infrastructure. I doubt there is a single kilometre of road in Russia that wasn't subject to a kickback.

There are many improvements in Nigeria as we speak even with the corruption. Power and communications have improved. There's a construction boom, the economy is growing at 7.2% per annum. The railways are back up and running after decades of inactivity. Infrastructure in many states is improving by the day, courtesy of 'action governors'. The education sector received the highest budgetary allocation of any sector in the last federal budget - for the first time in Nigerian history. Even agriculture is witnessing a silent revolution.

So while it is vital to put a lid on corruption, we cannot use that as an excuse for not pushing forward with good policies.

The fact that corruption is predominant in a nation doesn't make it right or calls for celebration.

If you budget NGN2b for a project and derived a value worth NGN800m, don't you know that NGN1.2b which could have been used for another project has been wasted to corruption?
If care is not taken, the quality of such project will be watered down to cover the quantity bargain initially.

Anyway,I was particular about value delivery. If GEJ wants corruption to keep growing in the system, there is very little I can do personally.
But what am saying is that quantity/speed should not be placed above quality in service delivery, simple!

Are you in his administration?
Re: We Will Move Very Fast This Year- Jonathan by kakaG: 11:37pm On Jan 02, 2013
Honestly Mr presido it is not a mater of speed, but delivery. If you moved slow in 2012 and delivered, we wouldn't be where we are today. There is still ample time to deliver if you are truly ready. As already mentioned, further disappointments will not come as a surprise, but performance will shock all your critics. We know it is almost impossible to rule this crazy country, but let's be able to say you did your best. Good luck Mr Goodluck.
