Nissan Quest Transmission Problem by oldave: 3:49am On Jan 05, 2013
I have 2002 nissan quest se. Its transmision is working like manual transmision, car does not move in drive mode. First I have to put it in #1 gear, when it moves then I put it in 2nd gear and when it reaches above 30 miles per hour then I put it in drive. it runs fine. If speed reduce to under 30 then I have to put it in 2nd gear. Is there any body who can help me with this matter.funny enough the transmission was rebuilt a couple of weeks ago Thanks

I had α similar problem with α 1990 camry;had to be shifting from the first gear too to make it move.just after it was rebuilt.it means the gear is locked in the 3rd or 4th gear, hence ∂ reason for it dragging.guess the rebuilding wasn't done right.I suggest u get α good mechanic and buy anoda tranny.α good mechanic will be able to identify α good one.I used α 2000 mercury villager too;and wen the gear started slipping,I didn't do anything to it.infact;I used it for more dan α year b4 selling it off.I concluded dat nissan quest/mercury villager have strong tranny cos if na sienna;e go don kpafuka tey-tey......so even if u change it;tho double ∂ amount used in rebuilding;it shld serve
