CFCfan: Remember peeps, Egypt scored 4 goals in 2 consecutive semi-finals, and went on to win the trophy in both 2010 and 2008. And when you consider the context that Nigeria eliminated both the defending champions and the pre-tournament favourites, the trek to the final was no mean feat. I don't think we could have had it any tougher. The good thing though is that it sharpened the lads and killed complacency - the biggest problem we have. The final will be a hard nut but I expect our team to be a massive sledge hammer. 5 Likes |

The funny thing is that Mali are ranked 25th by FIFA, while the Super Eagles aren't even in the top 50. Lmao Naija just messed up FIFA's ranking. 3 Likes |

Reference: Congratulations to the Super Eagles. They've exceeded our expectations and rewarded the confidence some of us had in the team. Like public transport buses, a long wait with none in sight then as you are about giving up they arrive in a convoy. Appears the dearth of goals in the groupies has been paid with interest today. Hope it extends till Sunday. Christian Chukwu was the Chief Coach in 1994 when Nigeria won it in Tunisia (Westerhof was the technical adviser). Chukwu was also the captain when Nigeria won it in 1980. Stephen Keshi was the captain in 1994, can he equal Chukwu's record? |
