CFCfan: Remember peeps, Egypt scored 4 goals in 2 consecutive semi-finals, and went on to win the trophy in both 2010 and 2008.

Lets hope the Super Eagles can replicate that feat on Sunday.

And when you consider the context that Nigeria eliminated both the defending champions and the pre-tournament favourites, the trek to the final was no mean feat. I don't think we could have had it any tougher. The good thing though is that it sharpened the lads and killed complacency - the biggest problem we have. The final will be a hard nut but I expect our team to be a massive sledge hammer.

Super Eagles won because of God on their side. Also d Malians did not xpect diz kind of play. Even their coach was confused.
Anyway dis is where my fear lies! Will Super Eagles not CRASH after soaring dis high?

It's okay to dream, because that's the only way the SE can leave their generator fumes polluted locker rooms in June.

That spot has "Ghana" written all over it. We have to pay Uruguay back for what they did to us in the world cup.

Abrantie you have been talking too much o.
When we are through with Ghana on Sunday. I will hit you up for a chat. tongue

The funny thing is that Mali are ranked 25th by FIFA, while the Super Eagles aren't even in the top 50. Lmao grin

Naija just messed up FIFA's ranking.

Reference: Congratulations to the Super Eagles. They've exceeded our expectations and rewarded the confidence some of us had in the team. Like public transport buses, a long wait with none in sight then as you are about giving up they arrive in a convoy. Appears the dearth of goals in the groupies has been paid with interest today. Hope it extends till Sunday.

By the way. For you soccer buffs. Can you name the other indigenous coaches that have reached the finals with the Eagles. Like to know.

Christian Chukwu was the Chief Coach in 1994 when Nigeria won it in Tunisia (Westerhof was the technical adviser). Chukwu was also the captain when Nigeria won it in 1980.

Stephen Keshi was the captain in 1994, can he equal Chukwu's record?
