In an unusual move, Pope Benedict XVI said he will resign on February 28 2013. He told college of Cardinals he is resigning due to advanced age. "Strenght.... has deteriorated in me" he said. The Pope will turn 86 on April 16. Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected Pope in 2005. The last Pope to resign is Pope Gregory XII in 1415 to end the civil war in the Church. Breaking new!!!! |
