A sign from God? Lighting strikes the basilica of St.Peter's dome earlier this evening during a storm that struck Rome on the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation.Pope-Benedict-XVI-resigns-First-Pontiff-600-years-stand-longer-strength-carry-on. 1 Like

if you guys realy have read revelation, and truely understands what was written there, you would know that the end is near, very near. That is no ordinary lightning strike. Its a confirmation for sure. But from who? God or satan? 3 Likes |

Actually, Thor is not happy No but seriously, it has to be one of three things; 1) Photoshop 2) chance photography (since we cant verify the date of the picture, this is more likely) 3) unexplained (you can fill in act of god here if u like) Filippo Monteforte has been taking pictures of the pope since 1991 or there about. This part of his career spans over 20 years and there is a high possibility he might have taken a chance picture of the Vatican any one time in this 20 year period and captured the image we see. It only seems right for his personal promotion to publish this picture right now and fuel the "mysterious" band wagon. Mind you, that "pointy" stuff at the top of the dome actually doubles as a lightning rod. Given that the dome is the highest point for miles around, it isn't unusual to have lightning hit (which it actually does several times a year). Getting the opportunity to catch that view is the only remarkable thing about this picture. 1 Like |

This is faker than fake! Even the pic proves it. Lightning is one fast phenomenon. Wat are the chances of the guy actually pointing his camera at the dome and anticipating a strike. Haaaaa! So dumb fake! I think the photographer is actually trying to insult our IQ. I'm reading some comments and I've had to modify my post for more clarification. Pope retires on monday, there is no news of a storm or anything like that. If there was a storm on that same day, the whole would know, trust me, they would take it as a sign. A man sets his camera idly in front of the dome on the day that the pope retired, no storm and anything. And he catches pic of a lightning strike. First of all, why did he point his cam at the dome on that prticular day? He is a vatican photographer, what is there that he has not snapped a million times. Or was he anticipating a strike in a clear weather? The whole thing is boxed up, like a pack of dumb lies. Some say it was photographed, others say it was videod. BBC uploads the video and another vatican photographer is claiming it? Haaa! I need to chillax 7 Likes |
