Mocality has achieved some incredible things over the last four years, and has touched the lives of many people in Africa, but alas, all good things must come to an end.

All of the Mocality Kenya and Mocality Nigeria operations will be closed on the 28th February 2013.

We would like to thank all of our Customers and Business owners for your patronage and support over this time. We would also like to thank all of our Agents, Suppliers, Staff and die hard Fans for your enthusiasm, drive and dedication that made Mocality into what it was.

Business Owners:

Please log into the system between now and the 28th to retrieve any data that you may require from the system, as the system will no longer be available after the 28th February 2013. All paid for services that should have been rendered after that date (including advertising space and the like), will be refunded in full, and you will be contacted about that refund individually if it applies to you.

Deals Customers that have purchased from us:

Of course, the fact that our site and related services is shutting down does not affect any coupons you may have purchased via our site. Coupons remain valid until they either expire or are redeemed in full by you at the relevant merchant. However, please log into the system between now and the 28th to retrieve any coupons or information that you may need as Mocality Deals will not be available after the 28th February 2013.
If you are due a refund for any reason, you will be contacted individually to facilitate that refund.

Please direct any queries to support@mocality.com.ng
Goodbye & THANK YOU

FROM TEAM MOCALITY

So sad seeing good online business innovations go down the drain.

It is owned by serial business killers with a lot of money to invest but not enough brains to cook up a sustainable business model.

It is interesting they didn't use the usual "has been sold to OLX" approach to announce this one's death.

Running very promising online businesses like sey na HYIP.

We are waiting for your next "big" thing.

Are these not the same guys that killed Dealfish? Or is it that someone is killing continent-wide online businesses one by one?

While this is unwelcome news, in my opinion, the location-based directory service provided by Mocality arrived a little too soon for Nigeria.

^^^ Dual has pretty much said it all - bad business model(s). Throw in a user base that is suffering from a combination of lack of steady power supply, low/expensive bandwidth, high unemployment, etc etc and I am not surprised. You could also probably add our (generally speaking) goal of making money first attitude (as opposed to building something that people will flock to for life) while you're at it.

Truth be told, those online businesses that do thrive need to be commended. I bet cost of operations is very high, given the above.

I hope they have paid all the youths they sent into the streets to "preach" Mocality from shop to shop.
These guys are heartless, you commit business minded people into something and a few months later you tell them 'una know sey every good thing get end, we don off'. Channel your money (wey miss road) into another line of investment entirely, something with less importance and impact to the web.

@Dualcore, I feel you. Mocality had a lot of business potential, infact the way they were going by it also motivated me on trying online business. I guess they spent so unwisely. Perhaps most of their door-2-door advertising were unnecessary cost-wise.
