ANDREW2EIC: Attempt this:

A certain far-sighted person cannot see objects that are closer to the eye than 50cm clearly. Determine the power of the converging lens which will enable him to see at 25cm.
v= -50cm
u= 25cm
1/-50 + 1/25 = 1/f
L.C.M= 50
-1+2/50 = 1/F
F= 50cm
since power= 1/F
power of the converging= 1/50cm
P= 0.02dioptre

Honestly, this question is too good to be jamb question, i.e, jamb can hardly give this kind of question considering time limit. Well, this is the solution:

Let the volume or cubic expansivity of the pot = ¥, initial volume of the pot = Vo, final volume of the pot = V1, change in temperature (To - T1) = T.
Therefore:
¥ = Vo - V1/VoT
(N.B the initial volume came first cos there was decrease in volume during temperature change, hence Vo>V1)

From the question, Vo - V1 = 0.20% of Vo. But 0.20% of Vo = Vo/500. Hence, Vo - V1 = Vo/500 = 0.002Vo = 2x10^-3Vo. Again, ¥ = 3 times linear expansivity of aluminium. ¥ = 3x23x10^-6/K, ¥ = 69x10^-6/K.
Substituting the values into the equation,
¥ = Vo - V1/VoT, 69x10^-6 = 2x10^-3Vo/VoT, Vo will cancel each other. Hence, 69x10^-6 = 2x10^-3/T.
Thus, T = 2x10^-3/69x10^-6, T = 28.9 degree celsius. Therefore change in temperature, T, is approximately +29 degree celsius.
Is that really lengthy? Well, that's the only way i could solve it for others to understands. Thanks for bringing this kind of question.

Length of resonance tube filled with water = 3/4 of 40 = 3x40/4 = 30cm. Therefore, the length of resonance tube filled with air, i.e, air column = length of resonance tube - length filled with water = 40 - 30 = 10cm.
At 2nd resonance, column of air = 3/4 of wavelength of the vibrating air(assuming i represent it with ¥). Hence, 10 = 3/4 of ¥. 10 = 3x¥/4. Multiply both sides by 4. 10x4 = 3x¥x4/4. 3¥ = 40. ¥ = 40/3 = 13.3cm. Therefore, wavelength,¥, = 13.3cm. Divide 13.3cm by 100 to convert it to metre. 13.3/100 = 0.133m. Hence, ¥ = 0.133m.
But, frequency,f = velocity(v)/wavelength(¥). F = ?, v = 334m/s, ¥ = 0.133m. Substituting:
f = 334/0.133, f = 2511.2Hz. Therefore, the frequency of the tuning fork is approximately 2511Hz.

ANDREW2EIC:

Velocity(v) of the particle = dy/dt = 4x4xt^3 - 3x3xt^2, v = 16t^3 - 9t^2.
Acceleration(a) of the particle = dv/dt = 16x3xt^2 - 9x2xt, a = 48t^2 - 18t., but t = 3seconds, hence:
a = 48(3^2) - 18x3, a = 48x9 - 18x3, a = 432 - 54, a = 378m/s

therefore the acceleration of the particle is 378m/s.
