Cappa & D’Alberto Plc, a construction company has been deleted from the nigeria stock exchange as the company stock has been last active since 2009, and there was no result.

wapco is expected to give out attracting dividend. It may not sound too much well because of the economic problem but the fact is that the nation stake soo much in road constructions and it increased the demand of cement coupled with the ban on imported cement. Those who hold the stock should look into this avenue to add to their profits

Wema Bank to raise N35bn in April

Wema Bank Plc has said it will raise N35bn from its investors before the end of April 2013.

The bank’s spokesperson, Mrs. Kemi Aina, told Reuters on Thursday that the bank would be raising the funds through a private share placement to strategic investors.

This, she added, would enable the bank to apply to become a national bank again.

“We expect all arrangements to be concluded by the end of April 2013, and the new capital will enable us to seek a national licence,” she said.

Its share price closed at N1.21 per share at the equity trading activities on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the major market indicators recorded a marginal loss after Thursday’s trading, with the market capitalisation of the listed equities shedding 0.4 per cent or N48bn to close at N10.626tn, up from 10,674tn recorded on Wednesday.

Similarly, the Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index was down by 0.4 per cent or 150.14 basis points to close at 33,207.02 points, from 33,357.16 points recorded the preceding day.

The NSE-30 Index lost 0.4 per cent or 6.70 basis points from 1,597.81 basis points on Wednesday, to 1,591.11 points, while the NSE Consumer Goods Index lost 0.8 per cent or 7.43 basis points from 979.70 points to 972.72 basis points.

I have always been interested in being an investor and trading in the Nigerian stock exchange but do not know how to go about it. From my little research (facebook, nairaland et al) you are experienced in these areas. Please I would like you to help me out on how and what to do as i am a novice and have strong background in Science (Physics and Maths)

Thanks in advance....

The stock market also called the capital market is an exchange where company's stock can be traded. You can buy books on stocks picking and digest on your own to get a grasp of the basics of investing in it because the ultimate decision lies with you and you bear the risk alone even if you have a financial advisor (which is advisable anyway). Join our platform as an investor for free and get tit bits on how the stock exchange works, where to invest and much more. Join us on: angelstartups.com.ng, the biggest Nigerian Platform where entrepreneurs meet investors (investors are also advised on the stocks to buy, hold or sell).
