No... I don't think it was... It lacked intent, was the first foul of the game and besides was a yellow card offense! I will beat that referee 3 Likes |

If you don't think it is a red card then ask a referee what dangerous play is. Don't let the uk media brainwash you. If that was Real they would be talking different. 21 Likes |

Na (red) devil go punish Nani and Man U in general. Dem think say ojoro na their birthright. Was Torres' red card in Chelsea vs Man U (at Stamford Bridge) justified? Not every referee belongs to the 'PDP'. Serves them right. 69 Likes |

Nani could have just stood up, walked up to arbeloa and apologized to show his innocence of the crime and not to sleep on the ground claiming injury. Old trafford is a high capacity stadium, is he gonna fool everyone there? 31 Likes |

Let's be truthful here , I am I die hard Man U fan, yes I know that the Red card was worth it, if you to be the Ref and u see some1 jump like jet li and he tries to hit u, so he hit him with a jet li move, JEsus , referee don't you have black card and ban him for life or are you a learner 27 Likes |

Let by gone be by gone, red card or not a good team can still win with ten men. Chelsea did it against Barcelona in thesame champions league. Better luck next time to Man U. 16 Likes |

Damn! - Nani DOESN'T know that the guy was coming because ALL his attention was on the BALL. If the Ref had just issued the red card immediately I would have said it was a reflex (which ofcourse he will regret later). That guy waited for atleast 70secs before issuing the red. Nobody in that match expected a red card at that moment beside the refree. You could even see the surprise on the faces of RealMad players. May be yellow but definitely NOT a red. That Ref is a biatch! 8 Likes |

The rule clearly states "no studs" because it's considered dangerous play. Accident or no accident Nani went in spikes up- automatic red card. The ref has to make the call the same no matter how significant the match. Any time you go in recklessly you are taking the risk of being sent off. Every player and coach knows this I don't like Madrid, but the truth must be said here. The challenge by Nani was a dangerous one, not helped by his simulation, which made the ref decision a very correct one. Had he accepted responsibility, he might have been lucky with a yellow. No matter, Nani saw Arbeola late and should have directed his leg away from Arbeola rather than aiming for his chest. The rule is clear- dangerous play, red card. 17 Likes |

No, it wasn't. Nani didn't even see the guy coming as he went for the ball. Nobody, not even The Madrid players expected such an hard decision the ref, as none of them contested it. I even thought at first that the decision would swing our way, after watching the first replay. Arbeloa was the clear instigator of the foul, as he had no business throwing himself at an on rushing Nani at all. My only regret is that he wasn't hospitalized, only then would a red card had been justified. 7 Likes |

Honestly he did Was Nani endangering an opponent ? YES was the foot raised high ? YES were the studs showing ? YES Did he make contact with man or ball ? MAN Did Nani try to simulate injury ? YES was the intent ? NO Is an injury without intent still an injury ? YES Conclusion : Paul scholes got a similar red card against Man city in the FA so what's the hype all about ? It was a red card offence no doubt. Even Nani knew it, that's why he tried to con the ref by lying on the ground injured. But considering the status of the match and the fact that it was nani's very first foul in the game, the ref would still have been justified with a yellow card. 1 Like |
